Remote controls for factory alarm system are not working.

I am trying to get the remotes for my alarm system for a 2003 Yukon XL working. Changed both batteries and yet not working. Is there some sort of resetting that needs to be done in these situtations?

Resynchronization may be necessary due to the security method used by the remote keyless entry system. The transmitter does not send the same signal twice to the passenger door module (PDM). • The PDM will not respond to a signal that has been sent previously. This prevents anyone from recording and playing back the signal from the transmitter. • The panic button should still operate normally when the system is out of synchronization. • Resynchronization may be necessary under the following conditions: - The battery in the transmitter is very weak. - The battery in the transmitter was replaced. - The battery in the vehicle has been in a low or no charge condition for an extended period of time. • In order to resynchronize the transmitter with the PDM, perform the following steps: 1. Stand within 1.5 meters (5 ft) from the vehicle. 2. Simultaneously press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter for 7 seconds. The door locks should cycle in order to confirm resynchronization.

Adding to this, my passenger door electronics are not working (power door lock, and power window), but they work on all the other doors. Is the PDM not getting power as well since the passenger door is not getting power? My panic button does not work as well. I've replaced the battery and also tried my wife's remote to no avail.

I had the positive battery end changed on my 2003 Toyota Corolla and when new ends were connected the alarm starts and won't stop...I can't turn it off by the remote....I can't even lock or unlock my doors...

Its possible the remote code was changed after install which required a learn and the learn was erased when battery power was lost.

If this is an add-on aftermarket alarm system, the best hope is that somewhere under the dashboard or near the left kickpanel by the floor you see/find a small button mounted there. This is usually the most common install for the override switch by most alarm installers. Turning the key to the ON position then pressing the button and holding for 2-5 seconds will shut the alarm down in most cases if it has such a button.
If it does not have a button, or this is a factory alarm system, its possible the alarm control module fuse has blown or the module itself is stuck or failed, or the receiver for the remote is not seeing the remote. Recheck the connections at the battery, if its an add-on alarm there may have been a constant power loop attatched to the cable that is required to power the receiver/module and was accidentally left off. checking all fuses may also yield a blown fuse that feeds the alarm system controls.

Does my Yukon have remote start?

There is NO WAY that anyone online can tell you what aftermarket equipment has been installed on your vehicle or where any of the components for such equipment would be located. It is hard enough to figure out where some of the factory installed components are located on some vehicles.

Your best bet would be to take the vehicle to an experieced auto repair technician. There is no substitute for an evaluation by someone who is familiar with the vehicle and can give it a first-hand look.

The alarm system isnt working by key to lock and open how do i fix this?

{: ) You need to lock the vehicle using remote in order to set the alarm in case of unwanted entry. Locking the vehicle in any other way like the key or door switches will not activate it.

I changed the batteries on my F350. This set the alarm off on the truck. I cannot get it to turn off. I finally had to cut the wires to the siren. The lights still flash for a minute or longer everytime...

If it is a Ford Factory Alarm it should have key FOBS (remotes). Just press the unlock button 2 times and that should stop it. Alarm systems no matter what brand always have remotes. If you have remotes pressing the unlock should disarm the system 99 times out of 100. If that doesn't work then either the battery in the remote is dead, or the remote is broken. Hope this helps.
