You have not really provided enough information to properly answer your query. However, a couple of things to check. Did you set the right page size when printing? Was the size of the item being printed able to fit on the paper size chosen? Finally, did you ensure the page format was correct - eg: as in a landscape shaped original on to perhaps a portrait shaped paper?

try going to driver printing preferences /paper or paper/quality tab and set your size for custom and to the 4 x 6 specific size for that sheet and the type as labels for tray 1.

go to file/print/properties, Paper/Quality Tab-if 74520 is not there, click on custom button, type in Avery 74520. size 4.30 x 11, save & click ok. exit properties then go back to file/print/properties, select Avery 74520 from list, then go to effects tab select print from document button which should show Avery 74520 in the text box to the right. click ok and print.

When I print avery label 74520 on my HP Office Jet Pro 8500, it prints too far to the left on the paper label.

You have to setup printer details, not to sure of programme, if word try looking under mailings/envelopes. There you have the choice to alter the details of the item you wish to use as a template. Good luck.

How do you type and print Avery labels 74520? I have lost the instructions which came with the labels.

This can be done with settings through your word processing program. Assuming you are using Word:

Microsoft Word 2007
The newest version of Microsoft® Word now includes hundreds of Avery Templates for labels, business cards, dividers and more.

Find Avery Templates by selecting the Mailing tab at the top of the Microsoft® Office Word screen. Just choose Create > Labels > Options > Avery US Letter, then choose your template by selecting the correct Avery Product Code.

Access Pre-Designed Avery Templates that are available from Office Online by selecting the round Office button at the top left of the screen, selecting New and then choosing the Avery product type. Pre-designed templates for Avery business cards, greeting cards, dividers, labels, note cards and postcards are available.

Avery Wizard for Microsoft Office is a free download which inlcudes step-by-step instructions to format Avery labels. Trust this is helpful. :)

Check the paper size setting when you set up the printer. Check page setup in File menu and specify the page size.

HP psc 1315 all in one-printing cards

Make sure you check the settings in the print driver. Sounds like your paper size settings do not match the size of the paper that you are printing onto and you are actually getting a false jam because the machine is seeing a different size paper then you ahve in it.
