I have the Toshiba Theaterview. Was watching it when I heard a sound and the screen went black. The Red Light will come on and glow steady and you hear it click when you try to turn it on or off but...

Something is causing the TV shut down or go in to 'protect' mode.
It is unusual to actually hear a component inside the TV go bad, but you obviously did. Probably in the main power supply or something that normally uses a higher voltage in the TV since you heard it..

Have an older Toshiba theaterview TV, when turn on, we have no picture, no sound, just black screen and blinking red light that just continuously blinks.

Theaterview suggests a rear projection--in that case it most likely is in the convergence circuit--unsolder chips (convergence) and see if set turns on.

Some of their regular TV sets (picture tube) if the light is just blinking means the same thing=shutdown because of a short/problem but a model number would tell me which you have.

Toshiba TP50G50 Theaterview picture is double with red color only

Your alignment is off. Go to the set up menu then convergence. hit right and you will be in the convergence menu. select the color that is not in alignment. The green line does not move. if blue and green are lined up the line will be cyan. if red and green are lined up the line will be yellow. when all three are lined up the color will be light. Best of luck!

Toshiba theaterview 50in rear projection tv

Look at it on the QVC channel where you have boxes with straight lines. If any of the 3 colors are bowed and 1 inch off, then it needs parts inside. If the colors are straight and only 1/4 inch off, you can adjust it. Using the remote, in the menus find convergence to adjust. Your user manual will explain it. At WWW.Toshiba.com you can download the manual if you do not have it.
