OMG, do they come and go or stay? You are most likely dealing with a failed LCD panel, a common problem with many older Samsung panels. If you can send me a pic of the screen @ [email protected], I would tell you for sure.

Yes.. It's either a Y-board or logic-main board that needs to be replaced and a qualified shop will have no difficulty in determining which one and getting it back on it's feet...
I think you'll be surprised too, that's it's not that expensive, comparatively.

No solution here.
I have the same issue... A vertical magenta line, about 2 pixels wide, appeared about 1" from the left side of my 52" LNT5265FX/XXA. Of course, this appeared after the 1 year warranty... For me it started showing up about 22 months from purchase date. It goes away when the TV warms up after about 30 minutes or so. Sucks that such an expensive product has developed this issue w/in 2 years.

Your plasma screen is made up of 1080 verticle lines and now a few of these lines are not working. This is the screen itself and needs replacing.
