Toto Drake with Gmax that oesn't completely shut off.

Took Gmax apart & cleaned strainer but I can still hear water running. The toilet is about 5 years old. Please tell me how to fix this problem.

Thanks,

Harold

Thanks for your answer. Don't see water trickling in the bowl & it doesn't run intermittently. It has a Toto G-Max 528 fill valve so doesn't have a float ball. I don't know if replacement parts are available or if the complete assembly will need to be replaced.

    Thanks again for your help.

Sounds like a good idea. Thanks.

I really confused now. I decided to put some food dye in the tank to see if the flapper was leaking. After waiting about 25 minutes, the dye showed up in the tank so I replaced the flapper. After installing the new flapper, I again put some food dye in the tank & waited another 25 minutes & there's dye showing up in the tank with the brand new flapper. The tank has a plastic flush valve. So now I don't have any idea what to do. Help please.

When you look in the bowl of the toilet, do you see the water trickling? If so then the flapper needs to be replaced.

Also, does the water run intermitentedly? As in every 2 to 5 minutes does the water kick back on to refil the tank? If yes then the answer is yet again the flapper.

Now if the water is constantly running then you can try bending the float arm (the ron that is connected to the big floating ball) down and see if that helps. If not then the next step is to replace the fill valve assembly.

Both of these together will run you about $20-$30.

I would recommend replacing the entire assembly as is is probably only a few bucks more then the individual parts.

My toto drake which has the g-max valve make a high pitch squeal when the toilet is flushed and also when it is finished filling. So at the start and stop.... Is this a defective valve or is there...

I had the same problem and solved it. You need to replace the valve with a Korky 528t replacement valve, which is very quiet. The gmax valve is inherently squeaky and there is no fixing it. You can get the 528t on the internet as it is unusual to find it in a store (don't get the 528 which won't work properly on toto). Also you must use the replacement overflow tube that is packaged with the 528t. The original tube is too narrow and the bowl won't fill properly. The replacement takes 10 minutes.

My Toto Drake toilet makes a noise like it is gasping for air when the tank is refilling with water. The water flow stops and starts while this noise is being made.

just simply clean the auto switch, the noosle where the water comes out when the floater goes down everytime the tank is empty with water.

The gmax continues to run and won/t stop

if it worked fine and now it has stopped....then there is no adjustment that will fix it. If the fill valve is not shutting off you either need to replace the seal in the valve or get a new fill valve. If the water is leaking past the flapper you will need a new flapper.

Have toto g-max valve that does not shut off. how fix?

you can adjust the float out to stop water flow there should also be an adjustmen where the arm attaches to the valve. it is possiable that your valve is bad . if so they are reletively easy to change out.

Water is running every 5 to 10 minutes

You might have a thermal expansion problem or the the valve is bad.

Make sure your pressure in the water system doesn't exceed 80 psi.

Open a faucet just a little bit and let it run. Wait to see if the toilet continues to do the same thing. If it does, replace the Gmax valve. You can use a Fluidmaster 400A. No need to get an expensive Gmax valve.

Toto toilet with gmax flushing system blue top

I have the same problem and can not find a solution. The toilet flushes fine but then a delay in filling up the tank occurs. Is there a part I can replace? Does something need to be cleaned or cleared?

Toto toilet Power Gravity intermittently running

I suggest that you replace the cap with the new seal, it sounds as tho the valve is not shutting off and the bowl fill tube continues to run. Have you adjusted the water level to 3/4 of an inch below the overflow tube. If not, try that.
