Importing video imac cable imovie - Canon ZR85 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

You can import directly to your imac using usb or firewire. Connect the camera using either of the interfaces and then open up imovie in your applications folder. Once open go to the file menu and then down to import from camera and then your can import from the window that comes up. If you need any more information you can get video tutorials from the help menu. Hope this helps.

The connection would be, analog into device, firewire to computer. Play the analog device and import into iMovie, Final Cut or other editor. They should see the signal and therefore import to a digital file. Check with System Profiler to see if it sees the firewire device. If your software allows playing to the firewire device, the ADVC300, then you can record to those analog devices.

In the latest version of imovie (i.e. imovie 09) import it into then click on the import. When you select the clip you will have at the bottom left hand side of the small clip an small gear shape icon click on this and then you can chose "cropping and rotation" and then you can rotate the clip. Hi, I managed to down load mine by connecting with a firewire and setting the camera to playback mode (not PC), opening imovie, turning the camcorder on and selecting file -' import from camera". a screen came up then I started playback on the camcorder and was able to select import from the screen on the imac.

It is a Hard Disk type Camcorder. Follow the steps as mentioned on the Link given below to transfer the video from the Camcorder to a Mac Computer.

The Panasonic PV-GS12 will transfer video in video record mode and video playback mode using the DV connection (IEEE) Firewire port. PC Mode is restricted to memory card access via USB. If after connecting it in this manner if it does not work try this. With everything connected via firewire and iMovie running. switch the camera to PC mode and the import window should pop up. You may get a comunications error and if you do then switch to playback mode. The import window should stay open and you can control your camera with the iMovie controls.
