Disconnects incoming calls after one ring

My uniden DECT 6.0 doesn't seem to allow incoming calls. The phone rings once, then disconnects (like a phantom ring). Sometimes it will allow incoming calls to go through, and sometimes it wont.

After one ring, the phone disconnects. I used my cellphone to call, and it did this to me:after one ring I heard a staticky noise- like a fax (we don't have one). The phone says "incoming call" with no caller ID information (we have caller ID, and it works at other times). I can call out w/o problems. We do have voicemail on this system- but I haven't figured it out yet.

same issue - have unplugged base stations and batteries and still the same issue.

Almost sounds like the voicemail is somehow or for some reason answering the calls and hanging up.

Since you can call out with your sets no issues, it is not a set problem.

Caller ID shows up after 2 rings, it's after the second ring that sends this information to your phones, but since the call is being answered after the first ring, it may not propagate this information to the set because the voicemail is possibly answering.

Ok, I want you to un-plug your base station (with the voicemail) and leave it unplugged, then get your telephone sets, and pull out the batteries.

Now, put the batteries back in and power up the telephone sets, after the sets are back up and running, power up the base station.

This will reset the base station and re-establish a link to the sets.

Then test call after you get dial tone on the sets. Call and see if the issue is still there.

Does it disconnect or just stop ringing?

Is it a phantom ring or does it ring to tell you someone called?

Call the phone number and listen to see if it does disconnect...

Do you have a voicemail system on this system?

Can you call out with no issues?

Incoming calls do not ring, and eventually go to voice mail. Screen shows "silent on".

The problem may be a short on your line. (Have the local Teleco check your line.) If you have other phones, you may want to check them for dial tone(DT) when this happens. If you have no DT, your cordless may be the problem...unplug, and let charge overnight. If problem continues, replace the battery in cordless, or discontinue use.

Answering macihne won't answer, disconnects after a few minutes

unplug your unit and allow it a few minutes to reset it's self. than call it using a cell phone and see if it does the same thing. If so check you menu option and make sure that the anserwing machine is not set up to only record for a certain period of time before disconnecting the call.

My voice mail doesn't work. I cannot get more than 2 rings on my incoming calls.

Press.MENU/SELECT > Ans. Setup menu > Ring Time submenu
Select a Ring time - Toll Saver, 2, 4 or 6 rings. Press MENU/SELECT once again to get a confirmation tone. The Toll saver setting is for if you are checking voicemail on a Long distance call, the call rolls over to the voicemail immediately if there are new messages

Phone rings once, but then stops ringing and I can't answer the call

If you have a landline, most likely you have a short in it. Not enough to kill line, but, when the 90 volts a.c. comes in to ring it jumps short. The short answers the phone.. It doesn't stop out going but can cause static. Check the line at the box outside. if bad there call your phone company, if good there, trouble is in house

I have a Uniden cordless unit hooked in 4 lines. Incoming calls ring briefly for about 1 second and go out! You can talk if you pick up but not sure why no normal rings. There is no problem calling out....

When someone calls you and your phone behaves this way, does the caller get disconnected? The phone may be causing this, but it may also be due to trouble in the telephone line itself. The trouble is caused by defective wiring, a partial short circuit. When you pick up your phone to call out, the voltage on the phone line is low and it works normally. When you get an incoming call, a high voltage is sent to ring the phone. Because of the partial short, the phone company's equipment thinks you've answered the call as soon as the ringing starts. But you haven't picked up the phone, so the phone company's equipment thinks you've hung up and disconnects the call. The result is that short burst of ringing.

Disconnect the cordless phone base unit from the line and try another phone. If you still have the trouble this confirms the line is at fault. You'll need to contact your phone service provider for service. If it's in the outside wiring, they're responsible for repair. If the problem is in your home wiring, you may need to pay them unless you have a wiring maintenance plan.

If the problem goes away when the cordless base is disconnected, then it's time for a new phone.

Uniden DECT 6.0 2080-2 rings for no reason

These DECT 6.0 phones work on 1.9 Ghz frequency and should not have any interference other than from another DECT 6.0 phone that can be within 150 ft of your phone. That means that somebody, a neighbor that has a DECT 6.0 phone close by is causing this problem. It also means that they are also getting these phantom phone rings. The best solution? Go to a 5.8 Ghz phone and your problem should go away.
