Ui data

It means that the boot data has been corrupted. The only way to fix it is to reinstall the firmware, if you can find it. Now, Goodmans don't have the firmware (boot routines) on their site, nor do they have any other support for the GPDR40 (FYI, 'Logik' and 'Ventura' MP3 players also suffer from the same problems, with fixes hard to find) I have seen major problems with nearly all USB devices, in my opinion caused by cheap chipsets and shoddy hard/software in even the most expensive of devices. I believe this is known as 'built in redundancy' or 'built in failure'. If someone has a working unit, open it up, connect the HDD to another PC as a slave, then copy all files and directories (except the media) to another formatted HDD. in the cases of Logik and Ventura devices, the limited boot ROM will tend to reinstall the uncorrupted OS files automatically, resulting in a working player again. PLEASE, someone, copy some working files or find a firmware update. I have FOUR dead GPDR40's, and I'm an electronics engineer... Alternatively, check for support from the manufacturers before you buy anything. I would bet anything that these companies have NOTHING to do with the design or manufacture of these units, only the branding licenses, hence no support. Scumbags.

Mustek pvr-h140

Hi,

Are you trying to restore the files you previously had on your Mustek or just trying to get it to work as it did before the format? If you're just trying to get it to load, follow these instructions:

"Install the PVR Console software in the bundled CD and connect the device to PC. The software will help to restore system data and boot up files to the device automatically. When the copying is done, restart the device for twice."

If you're trying to restore the data you accidentally formatted, connect it to your PC and try using a program such as Free Undelete to restore the files that were previously deleted. In the program, you need to browse to the drive that your Mustek shows up as on your PC (so if the drive is X: you need to restore files on X in the program).

Follow these steps:

CLICK Here to Download : Firmware Update

Here is the instruction:
  1. Download the YP-U2J Updater
  2. Remove Mp3 player if you already connected to the USB port
  3. Run the program (You should see something like: Please connect the device)
  4. Hold down the Play button and connect the Mp3 Player to USB port (Hold down the play button while you connect the device, you should see a message (normally after 8 seconds) like: Initializing on YP-U2J Updater program screen)
  5. After you hear the Windows chime "new device found" or the message "Initializing" on YP-U2J Updater, you can now remove your hand from play button.
  6. Check the Format Data Area checkbox (By clicking the yes button, you will lose all of your data in your Mp3 player)
  7. Click the "yes" button
  8. Finally, click on the Start button (takes less than a minute). DO NOT REMOVE YOUR DEVICE
  9. IMPORTANT: After updating the firmware, you MUST disconnect the Mp3 player and turn it on. You will see a 20% message for about 50 seconds and it will be restarted automatically.
Update: Please keep in mind that if you sync your Mp3 player with a computer that has a Windows Media Player 9 or 10, you should do these steps again

Mp3 digital player

Hi!
Don't worry, that's not a problem...unless it appears every time you plug it in.
Well, when it usually connects to the computer, it should be able to read it unless the Sony NW-E405 has a corrupt data song. In other words, you can either format the mp3 player on the mp3 player itself or on the computer.

By formatting on the mp3 player, it has be on either pause or stop button. Play button will not open the Initialize menu.
So go to menu, settings, scroll down to Initialize, and then click format. It should say OK?
click yes.
A quick Format done screen should pop up.

The computer way is much longer but cleaner.
Go to my computer.
Right click the removable disk (or it would say whatever you named it to be)
and click format.
A screen should come up with some info like capacity and File system.
Forget all that and click Start.
It should probably take 2 minutes.
Then try it once more.

It should be no worries now.
If it consists to be a nuisance, please reply back
I'd be more than happy to help fix this.

Have a great day!
