Where Domestic is the brand name. Are you sure is it Domestic and not Dometic?

Sorry, we've never encountered this problem.

e1 means you lost communication between thermostat and relay module.

It could have the sensor wire not plugged all the way or maybe a broke sensor wire from console to condenser control

Hi By E1 error it means
Loss of communication between the Single Zone LCD thermostat and the module board. LCD will cycle between E1 error.

Check the link for regular maintenance Of the LCD thermostat.
If it doesn't help then you have to replace the LCD thermostat.
