By the outside unit, you will have a shutoff. pull out the shutoff, and unscrew the cover. 2 cylinder like fuses are inside. It is likely that one or both are bad. When you turn on the AC and the outside fan does not turn on... this is likely this is the solution.

The outdoor unit has a fan relay in it. Your stat talks to the outdoor unit. If the fan relay is bad than the indoor evaporator fan will not operate. If the outdoor unit isn't running it's probably the low pressure and/or high pressure switch has cut off inside the unit. It needs to be manually reset. Its also possible that you have a bad switch too.

The thermostat works fine for heat, but as soon as I switch it to cool, the air conditioning will kick is but the inside thermostat will not change, causing the air conditioner to run continuously

If the temperature doesn't drop when the air conditioning is running for some time (two hours), the air conditioner is not working. The problem is not in the thermostat.

Air conditioner works fine but heat won't kick on

Check RV is working. And also keep thermostat setting +29 and heat mode.

Thermo set "heat" and "Auto

Check the fan relay. These relays are used to cut the fan on and off when the thermostat is set in the air conditioning or heating mode or when you move the thermostat to the "Fan On" position. The low voltage usually the green thermostat wire is wired to terminal #1. The low voltage common wire to terminal #3. One line voltage wire is attached to terminal #4. The high speed blower wire usually black is attached to terminal #2. When the thermostat calls for air conditioning or "Fan On" the 24 volt coil is energized, the terminals 4 and 2 close. This causes the fan to come on in high speed. When your home cools down and the thermostat cuts the air conditioner off, the low voltage coil terminals 1 & 3 are denergized, and the fan goes off. Sometimes these little relays stick which causes the fan to run all the time or will not make good contact, which causes the fan to not run in the "Fan On" or air conditioning mode.

How do you set on and off mode on air conditioning

Use the remote to enter the timer to switch off - OFF timer setting and the On timing after setting the clock on the remote
Once this is presetted the unit will continue to work shut of in the thermostat settings and fully cuts off power in the set off time.
later the set will come back in the set on time and work till the thermostat setting is reached.

I recently replaced my thermostat to digital and the air conditioner works great but the heat doesnt seem to get hot enough like it is blowing out room temperature air. when i replaced the thermostat there...

Sounds like you got the wrong thermostat.
The orange wire is for the reversing valve, which reverses the flow of refridgerant and changes the system from cooling mode, to heat mode.

If your thermostat has no terminal for the orange wire, (usually labled "O") then you have a thermostat that is not compatible with heat pumps.

Will not shut off

Sounds like a stuck relay on the unit itself. Maybe there is a short in the control wire that comes from the thermostat that activates the fan.

The thermostat probably has one hot wire at all times. The thermostat then chooses which wire to send the voltage down based on your selection. One of those wires is probably for the fan only. Make sure that it is in good condition (no bare, pinched or wires)

Fan setting only works

Air Conditioners have a fan speed relay built in the unit, faster for cold air and slower for warm heated air. It is very possible that your relay is defective
