I would check the capicitors on the power supply to see if the they are bulging at the top or leaking. I had a Samsung lcd that starting taking and hour to turn on then eventually it would not turn on. So I checked the power supply and saw four bulging capacitors that I replaced and now it's working like new.

SOURCE: I have a 42

Hi,

There are a number reasons why this might happen:

  • The backlight has gone (Find a dark place and shine a torch into the screen and see if you can see an image in the background, if you see an image then the backlight has gone) - Needs a new backlight (Engineer to remove and fit) or have a new panel fitted.
  • The panel has died - Need a new panel
  • A cable has worked itself loose or is broken
  • The inverter has gone - Need new inverter
  • The driver board is faulty
Thanks

Hi,
Symptom shows Lamp is not working and either lamp or its drive board is bad that will be replaced.
Did you replaced lamp in tv recently?
If not, replace it. Lamp replacement procedure would be written in user manual.
Thanks.

No sound or picture but lights come on sony wega plasma

Typical failure for all plasma tv's is a blown Y-sustain board. Another high failure for all tv's is dried out bulging capacitors in any of the power boards. You likely have one of these problems.

Hi,
Replace its lamp as existing lamp has been reached at end of its working hours life and need to replace to solve this issue. Please note lamp is not not broken or dead yet so you do not see lamp light on tv front.
Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual.
Please buy Sony original lamp for god picture in tv.
Thanks.

The tv was re conneceted after 2 wks. It played

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.

Sony Wega TV

The picture tube may be showing its age this is common if the tv is up there in age with a lot of hours on it. you might.also check the voltage available at the outlet as that could cause a problem.Make sure heavy power users such as refridge, microwave etc are not on the same circuit. It should be very close to 115 volts (use a digital meter )

Good luck

Sony grand wega kf-50we610 red lamp light blinking

The red light means that the prjection bulb needs to be replaced. They ony last about two years depending on hours of use. The low popping sounds as well as fan noise is normal for the Sony projection TV. You can Google the owners manual by entering the brand, model etc. and ask for the owner's manual. I had to go to several sites but eventually found it.

You should contact an authorised Sony repairer as they have a fix which took abot half an hour to solder in a replacement part which had been damaged by over-heating. Ours was fixed under extended warranty.

Sony wega 60" tv

SOUNDS LIKE ANOTHER LAMP. WHICH MAY JUST BE BAD LUCK. PROJECTION LAMPS CAN GO OUT IN ONE DAY OR LAST TEN YEARS THERE SUPPOSE TO AVERAGE 4000 TO 6000 VEIWING HOURS AND THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT FARIABLES THAT CAN AFECT IT. IM ASSUMING YOU HAVE A KDSR60XBR1 WHICH HAD A PROBLEM WITH THERE OPTICAL BLOCKS. I HAVE REPLACED MANY AND NEVER HAD A CALL BACK YET IN REGAURDS TO THAT BUT LAMPS ARE A DIFFERENT STORY. I WOULDNT WORRY IF I WAS YOU BUT IF THIS NEW LAMP GOES OUT SONNER THAN EXPECTED THEN I WOULD LOOK AT THE BALLAST IT IS WHAT POWERS THE LAMP
