I have been getting the Sd code and then F21 code during regular wash. I followed directions cleaning out white filter on bottom of machine and it did not help. So I followed directions for resetting the pressure pump and it worked when I set the machine to rinse/spin. Now I tried to do a regular wash and got th Sd and then F21 codes. So it's still not working. Any suggestions? Maybe I need a new pressure switch?

Ok, I think I figured it out. Took the pump out and the fan looking thin is all crooked and has been for some time. So it looks like I need a new pump. Anyone know where I cam get one?

SOURCE: Whirlpool 6th sense awm8163 programes never stops now cannot get it to work at all

The pump is at the lower left of the front of the machine covered by a white plate. Use a bowl to catch any remaining water when opening the screw thread inside and then clean and replace. If it is truely beyond repair then a new filter pump can be bought from ebay for £3 or thereabouts.

I have just drained mine manually in this way and am going to run it empty with soda crystals to glean a few more days use whilst the new pump arrives.

Good luck :)

SOURCE: SD error code won't go away

Manual says -

"Sd" (Suds Detected)
Did you use regular detergent?
Regular or hand-washing detergents are not recommended
for this washer. Use only High Efficiency ("HE") detergent.
Did you add too much detergent?
Always measure detergent. Follow detergent manufacturer's
directions.
If excessive suds are detected, the washer will display this
code while running a suds reduction correction routine at the
end of the wash cycle. The suds reduction routine removes
extra suds and assures proper rinsing of your garments. If the
code remains and the wash cycle dial is flashing after the
recovery routine has stopped, re-select your desired cycle
using cold water. Press START. Do not add detergent.

Let me know if this helps, or you would like more information/help.

SOURCE: Problem with F21 code on whirlpool duet sport

i had the same problem. take the bottom cover off of the front of the washer. on the right you will see a round white screw off cover, it is very tight, it unscrews counter clock-wise. pull this out and see if there is any debris in it. if you look into the hole on the right side there is a hole about 1 inch round, this is the pump opening. you may have to take the gray drain hose off of the back of the pump housing and feel if anything is stuck in there, in my case there was a penny stuck side ways blocking the flow of water. after i took it out the washer has been running great again. this is obviously a design flaw, that something that large could manage to get that far, lucky for me it didn't damage the pump impeller. hope this helps. this should take care of the SD and the F21 error codes.

SOURCE: Washing machine displays an LF error code.

LF = Long Fill

LF flashes when the water level does not change for a period of time after the valves are turned on OR water has disengaged the basket but control does not detect a water level change.
Is water supply connected and turned on?
Are hose screens plugged?
Is water entering the tub? If so check pressure hose connection to machine/motor control.

I have a Kenmore HE2Plus - it is 6 years old. All of a sudden two days ago I got up to a load of laundry not done, full of water and the code F21. We have gone through most all of your suggestions. At...

The Sd code appears when sud is detected but it may also indicate draining problem such as blocked drain filter or broken drain pump as signified by the long drain error code F21. The drain pump impeller may be broken or restricted resulting in poor draining or no draining at all or the drain pump motor is faulty. Since the drain hose and filter have been cleaned but the error code still persists, the drain pump likely needs to be replaced. F21 code and leaking from behind washer where hose comes out. Already used shop vac to drain hose, got code again on cleaning cycle.

F21 is a code for Long Drain.check to see if anything is clogging the pump.If you remove the 3 1/4" hex screws from the bottom panel, you can remove the panel.Behind the panel is a large white pump. You can remove the filter and check to see that nothing is clogged inside.

Door wont open f21 alarm

F21 indicates that the washer is having problems draining. Check the drain hose to see if it is kinked or if there is an obstruction in the hose.

SUD comes on every time excessive suds are detected. Not using the proper detergent will set this off faithfully. The machine will run a cycle to remove the excessive suds before completing the wash cycle.

You need to clean the drain filter by removing the 3 screws in the bottom of the front panel. Then you will see a white twist cap. Remove the filter and clean it out.

F21 Error code flashing

Plug off the wall first. The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic

On some models the filter is located ‘inside’ the big hose from the bottom of the tub. This takes more time to clean.

To manually unlock the door lock system, perform the following steps.
1. Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
2. Remove the lower kick panel.
3. Reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the bottom of the door latch assembly.
4. Located on the bottom of the door latch assembly is a teardrop shaped tab. Gently pull the tab down approximately quarter inch, or until a click is heard.
5. The door may now be manually opened.

F21 error code on a Kenmore HE2 front load washer

Washing machine

Make sure you are using HE soap, regular soap will produce sudsing issues in front loading machines.
F21 indicates a clogged pump or a long drain. Since you are also getting a SD error indicating a sudsing issue, the water level switch (pressure switch) may have failed. If you would like to make sure the pump is not clogged, you can clean/inspect the pump filter;
  • Remove the bottom access panel (three screws along the bottom).
  • There you will find access to the pump clean-out. (Large, white screw cap)
  • BE PREPARED TO CATCH SOME WATER.
  • CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY unscrew the pump clean-out, catching and discarding the water.
  • When the water flow finally stops, completely remove the clean-out filter.
  • Inspect the clean-out filter, the drain hose from the tub as well as inside the pump impeller for any additional debris
