Dell Inspiron 8500 messege on boot "This computer system, #......., is protected by a password authentication system. You can not access the data without the correct password. Type in the primary or administrator password". How to overcome this condition? Thanks, Yefim

    Thanks, but I basicly do not need any data from this computer. I just want to reinstall clean WinXP. So, I agree to clean ALL INFORMATION, PASSWORDS AND DATA including BIOS and HDD. Dell needs proof of ownership first to send Master Password, but I am the 4th owner and don't have one. Is any not expensive hard or soft methods to clean/flush the BIOS or erase passwords at all and start from the very beginning? Thanks in advance.

You need to contact Dell tech support they are the only one has access to the master password of your computer.

    Ryan, I have the same problem as the above post on an Inspiron 8500 laptop. Service tag: H70B631 , system gives this system number at bootup: #H70B631-595B. I have changed ownership thru Dell, but they want too much money for the master password. My email is [email protected], please use subject line " password authentication". Thanks very much!
