Can I use a similar bake element if I can't find the exact match

I have an old GE eletric stove. My bake element is out. I'm looking for a relacement but I can't find the exact width and shape. I looked for the model # on the back of the stove but there is non.
Can I use a different width size?

I found a website that helped, here are some model numbers that work for the GE element. ERB44X126 , Ch44x126-450546 these work for the 3000 watt 236 volts. hope this help.

How to change the bake element in a GE stove

Unplug or turn off all power to the oven. With most ovens you can then unscrew the element from inside the cabinet with either a screwdriver or a 1/4 nut driver. carefully pull the element out with the wires attached and dont let the wires go back through the holes. Unplug or unscrew the wires from the old element and plug into or screw onto the new depending on the type of terminal. If it is a push on type terminal make sure the connection is tight, if they are not tight pull the terminal back off and tighten the gap with pliers and recconect. put it back together and you are done. If by chance the wires are not long enough you will need to pull the stove out, remove the back panel and make the connections from the back. Good luck, it is not hard.

ok jimmy not as bad as you think you access it through the oven cavity remove all the racks look for two screws on the bottom panel i believe they are at the front remove them then remove the bottom panel next you will see a lame spreader which is an angled plate remove it then you will see the burner bar at the back is the ignighter just match it with the new one
