Hi,
Some of your comments look like they're missing but from what I can see you had to put chain back on and now the door doesn't close all the way.take the cover off and look at the limit switch, this the travel adjustment. The switch for the close side is making contact too soon so it shuts off early. You need to adjust contacts so its further away. Depending on where the trolley was when you reattached the chain, you might not be able to adjust it back enough. But try it first. If you still come up short you will have to take the chain back off and move the trolley back to where the door would be closed and reattach chain. now open position will probably need adjustment leave door unhooked and just let trolley move in case it over shoots the mark either way.

Linear garage door opens and closes when close to unit about 10 '

when the door stops moving when going down, pull the emergency release handle on the door and then push the door closed by hand. Once it's closed push the emergency handle back so it engages the chain. Open the door and close it a few times to make sure it closes all the way with the motor.

I have a 1/2 hp crftsman 41A4315 garage door opener. I changed the gear and now it won't close all the way. It started going down and reverse back up

your chain is in the wrong position, unhook the chain and run the door opener so it is in the down position, then reattach the chain and make the adjustments as needed on the up and down screwes located on the side of the unit. good lick

I have a 1/2 HP Liftmaster Chamberlain Garage Door Openner that will neither open nor close now. I have disconnected the door from the carrier. With the carrier up, I press the button and it goes down...

1. Lubricate the chain and the shaft or angle iron that the carrier rides on.
2. If that doesn't work, see if the opener has adjustment screws for up force and down force. If so, try increase the down force about half a turn at a time.
Write back with your results.

Craftsman 1/3 hp garage door opener I bought a new one - my father installed it and the door will open half way - that is it.. then when you go to close it - it closes and then opens half way...

I hate to say this but it sounds like your father did not follow the instructions when he installed the opener. Try following these instructions.

Loosen the chain enough so that you can remove it from the sprocket above the motor unit. With the door closed run the motor until the sprocket turns clockwise and stops. With everything attached replace and tighten the chain. Some adjusting of the up and down limits will probably be required.

Door closing half way then pulling back up

Check your door sensors. Most likely one has been bumped and they are not pointed at one another. Tweak them until the small light on each one is lit steady and not blinking.

Garage door opener chain out of sync with door

There are two white screws on the sides that adjust the limits. Adjust the "down" screw less. You should have to turn the screw 4 full turns for eight inches. After you make this adjustment, test it without the door being hooked up to prevent damage to the door or opener if it tries to close too far.

How is the chain supposed to be aligned

sync the motor. the gear kit tells you how. get motor up and position trolley near motor, assuming you left chain/cable attached to trolley). Get motor up by running motor and then pushing button again. if motor reverse, let it run and it will stop in up position.
