It is more on a hardware issue. The battery needs to be drained. Once on, let the battery drain and re charge it for 4 hours.

SOURCE: Function Buttons are not working in conjunction with (FN) Key for Screen light adjustment and other features.

As far I know FN keys are related with specific motherboard drivers.
Thoshiba recovery cd/dvd during restore/re-install, loads all toshiba drivers and utilities for operating fn keys.
If the operative system loaded in the laptop is no OEM then you will have this problem, and in order to fix it you must:
First install the operative system (clean install)
Second install: chipset drivers. This drivers instructs the operative system how to detect specific hardware. Must be installed in first order.
Third: install drivers (ethernet card, audio, video controller, toshiba utilities, etc). At this point verify all FN keys ( check display settings, stand by/ hybernation, etc).
four: Load all software needed (microsoft office, etc).

I hope this help to solve your problem

SOURCE: Remove Bios Password satellite A305-s6872

If you cannot find the reset pins try to find the CMOS 3V battery, it is usually located under the keyboard, and disconnect it. remove the computer battery and then start the computer. When you boot it should ask you for the time and date. At this point shut down and plug the CMOS battery back in and reinstall the computer battery. This time when it ask for the time and date go ahead and enter it and the rest of the bios should be set to default.

Read the manual.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "ToshibaSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Look for manuals and search them for Bios Password.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A305-S6905 Laptop and for some reason it will not go wireless anymore, its been like this for a few years now.Do you know if it is a defect with this model and if anyone else has...

If you browse www.toshiba.com and download the lates drivers, check the WiFi driver is loaded correctly and if it still doesn't work, replace the little WiFi board. There are often boards for sale on ebay from very little in cost.
Hope that helps.

A305-s6905 wont start up

Hi

It sounds like one of 2 things

1) The DC jack on your motherboard is loose (You can test by getting some long nose pliers and wiggling the DC jack at the back of your PC if it feels loose this jack will need to be replaced by a reputable PC repair shop

2) The motherboard/CPU itself have blown, again this will need to be booked into a reputable PC shop for replacement

Please can i ask that you leave feedback and vote if this has been useful
