Initial GM-501 Whenever I start the navigation I get a Fatal Application Error. It has "Application Intellinav.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor. Program: Intellinav.exe Exception: 0xC0000005 Address:03FC0844" When I hit "OK" it takes me back to the main menu screen. All I want is to reset it somehow if that is possible. If I have to send it somewhere to be repaired I will just go buy another unit that will work correctly.

I got the same problem (one day I just got the message "intellinav.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be closed"... or something to that effect. Thereafter, I could do things like look at pictures stored on a flash card, etc ... but the minute I tried the "navigation" option... I got that message and could not use my gps facilities). Turns out that all I had to do was to reset the unit.
I took the "Settings " option on the main menu, then chose "restore all settings to factory default values"... it then posted a "finished" message. I went back to the main menu and selected the
"navigation" option ... and then everything worked again. My unit was an Intellinav-SE. In the Users Manual on page 41, they clearly document the procedure to reset the unit back to the factory default.
Hope this helps.
Jim
