HDMI The HDMI input becomes disabled all by itself. Apparantly there is a sensor that senses that the back has been removed from the set. There is a proceedure to re-enable it but it requires me to remove the back of the tv, connect a jumper, plug in the power, unplug the power then put the back on the set. The HDMI input will now work until it stops working without any warning or tampering with the set. Does any information of this problem? It seems like a bug or maybe the sensor is intermittent.

Prior to disassembly, unplug the power plug from the AC outlet without fail. (Turn the power "off".) Short the SB connector [1] pin and [2] pin of the DIGITAL INPUT MODULE PWB. (At the time of assembling) Before the rear cover is inserted into the cabinet, release the short-circuit between the SB connector [1]pin and [2]pin of the DIGITAL INPUT MODULE PWB. After releasing the short-circuit between the SB connectors, do not turn the power on until the rear cover is inserted into the cabinet. Negligence in carrying out the above steps may cause the inactivation of the TV.

Digital input not working and greyed out on the menu.

Most JVC TV's with HDMI and Digital Input have an optical sensor inside the case to sense if someone is trying to bypass the hardware encryption. My JVC was exposed to sunlight prolonged sunlight and triggered this optical sensor which disabled my HDMI ports. This may be the same situation for you.

JVC HDMI Port Fix

Turn the TV on, and enter the Service Menu. Select 2 for Self Check. Then turn the TV off, and after the fan turns off, unplug the power cord. Reconnect the power cord, turn the TV on, and the HDMI port is re-enabled.

Here's how to get to Service Menu:

Before entering the SERVICE MENU, confirm that the setting
of TV/CATV SW of the REMOTE CONTROL UNIT is at the
"TV" side and the setting of VCR/DVD SW of the REMOTE
CONTROL UNIT is at the "VCR" side. If the switches have not
been properly set, you cannot enter the SERVICE MENU.
1) Press [SLEEP TIMER] key and while the indication of
SLEEP TIMER 0 MIN is being displayed, press
[DISPLAY] key and [VIDEO STATUS] key (Fig.2)
simultaneously.
2) The SERVICE MENU screen of Fig.1 is displayed.
3) Verify what to set in the SERVICE MENU, and set
whatever is necessary (Fig.1).
Refer to the SERVICE ADJUSTMENT for setting.
4) Press the [BACK] key to return the SERVICE MENU.

Every time I turn my Yamaha RX-V565 on it switches to the AV1 input instead of staying on the HDMI input that it was on when I turned it off.

Set your TV, Sattellite receiver and audio where you want it when you turn on the set. Then hit the Scene button named "TV" and hold it down till the yamaha receiver says set complete and it will turn on to HDMI 2

Denon AVR 3806 Philips 42PFL3603D/F7 Compatibile

Make sure the control feature is disabled on both units so that they are not trying to send control signals to each other.

Secondly make sure your input is configured to hdmi for both audio and video within the receivers on screen menu The receiver usually auto senses the digital audio signal but doesn't automaticly know that it should use hdmi for video.

I have an HDMI Cable how do I connect my computer to my Plasma TV

Your laptop has to have an HDMI output and the tv has to have an HDMI input. Put the tv on that HDMI source inpput, the laptop will sense the new device and install a driver for it, which is your video driver. Your video driver has to be capable of driving two monitors. The best bet here is to update the video drivers. When it senses the TV, the tv will show what the computer monitor shows and windows will ask you if you want to use the tv as the primary or leave the setting as they are and run both monitors. Whatever you choose, when you power down either the tv or the computer the computer will sense the change and revert back to the default settings.
