I have an older Jet 3 power chair. Ammeter reads zero when turned on, but all 6 lights on the joystick blink about every 2 seconds. The horn still works but the chair won't move.
I just had the same problem with my uncle's power chair. The number of "blinks" indicates a problem code to the technicians. My chair needed the joystick control assembly replaced. Once replaced, evrything was back to normal. 'Not a cheap fix but much needed. Good luck my friend!!

Flashing lights on a controller are showing you a trouble code. To find out what the code means, count the blinking LEDs.
Here's a link to Pride's troubleshooting guide for the Jet 3:
One thing you can do, it is reading between the lines of the manual. http://www.pridemobility.com/pdf/Owners_Manuals/US_Jazzy/US_Jet_3_ultra_om.pdf
Put the chair in drive mode, shut it down. Then disconnect the batteries, depending how it is wired, either one or both of the negative terminals should be disconnected. Keep the joystick and other items plugged in. Let it sit for a moment. Then reattach the battery terminals. And see if that corrects it. If it does not, the company would have to send a tech out to calibrate the joystick again. I am sure it would be something of a liability issue if they put that information freely into their manuals.
use a standard 7.5 volt dc fuse the speed lights will not blink when charging only the battery level lights will Make sure that your batteries are installed correctly... There should be two cables running to the fuse located at the rear of your chair one wire should be attached to the positive post of the front battery and the other wire to the negative post of the rear battery. The other cables should be color coded red for the positive post of the rear battery and the black to the negative post of the front battery. This will connect your batteries in series so you will be getting 24 + volts to the chair. The chair should then come on with the power switch on the joystick all the battery level lights should light up and the speed level lights will light up indicating the speed level you are set on. Once you have made sure that the batteries are wired correctly plug in the charger cord and you should get some deflection on the ammeter. When the ammeter reaches zero and kinda bounces up and down then you should be fully charged Hope this helps
Do all of the speed lights flash at the same time or do they ripple from left to right? If they ripple from left to right the chair is in lock mode and you can use the unlock procedures from my tips to unlock. If they are all flashing at the same time you have an internal joystick problem and the joystick needs to be replaced Hope this helps
Cathey when you plug in the charger look at the rear of the chair at the meter if the chair is charging then the meter will indicate some amperage reading when it is fully charged the meter will read zero. Also turn on the chair and if the lights are scrolling or flashing it shows that the charger is plugged in. Now if after the meter reads zero (if it ever does) the lights on the joystick should all be lit indicating a full charge. If you aren't getting all the lights and the meter indicated the charger was working then you need to replace the batteries Hope this helps
The chair should have a meter on the rear panel where the 9 pin connector for the joystick plugs into the chair when you plug in the charger cord the meter should move up and the lights on the joystick should flash indicating the charger is plugged in. When the chair is fully charged the meter should read zero or bounce up and down. Hope this helps
Does all your lights on the joystick come on after charging? If you can have someone look behind your chair while still plugged in for charging, the green light on the charger will be lit if the batteries are fully charged. They will have to kneel and look under the shroud to locate the charger they will see the light if it is on. Also check the meter on the rear of the chair the meter should read zero when the chair is plugged in and fully charged. I fyour chrger is working then if the chair does not stay with power for what was normal then new batteries are probably needed
The chair is in lock mode. To unlock, turn on, when the lights start to scroll, push the joystick forward and keep it there until you hear the beep. When it beeps, pull it back and wait for the beep, once the beep sounds let go and listen, if you hear a high pitch beep, success. If it doesn't work the first time, just do it again. Sometimes it may not work right away but don't panic, just follow the steps again.
