Make sure there is not any debris stuck in the valve pipe assembly which will keep the assembly from switching from tools to floor.

SOURCE: No suction in upright position

Check the adapters at the bottom. They're supposed to move cleanly when you lower the handle. It's pretty obvious if there's an air gap when you lower the handle, and you should hear the suction in the air gap.

And...call Dyson...their support is great!

SOURCE: handle wont go to upright position

The red pedal has slipped out of position. On both ends of the red pedal you'll see metal rods (the axel of the pedal). On one side you'll see the metal rod sits into a long groove, on the other side you'll see the metal rod sits into a round hole. They both have to be in the long grooves so you have to reposition the rod that's into the round hole by pulling it out and sliding it back into the long groove above the round hole. You'll now be able to bring the handle up and lock the machine back into the upright position.

SOURCE: Placing the handle of my Dyson DC07 into its

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

The brush control is designed to switch the brush bar off automatically when you stand the machine back into the upright position. It is designed this way to protect any delicate floor surfaces when you have the machine switched on and upright and when you are using the hose.

If the brush control should be in the centre position and move forward to the "on" position when you release the head. If it is not doing this, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards
Darran

Bissel cleaner won't stop spraying water

Remove the handle and check for continuous spray.
After handle is removed, check to make sure the valve is not stuck in the down position. If the valve is stuck in the down position, push on it manually to get it to come back up. If it is stuck you may need to get a new handle for your unit. This handle is for a variety of the ProHeat models http://www.bissell.com/parts/?sc=part&productid=2775&partid=4449&cid=ccsocial

Check to make sure it will properly fit your model if you need a new handle.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the problem you're having with your DC28. You should find the cleaner reclines into the vacuum position easily when you place a foot on the cleaner head and lower the handle. If it's not doing this, please get in touch with us free on 1866MYDYSON, or email [email protected]. One of our experts will be happy to assist you further.

Kind regards,

Dyson 28 handle is stuck in the locked and upright position. Vac runs fine, just can't get the handle to release to run the vac

On the lower right side of the body of this model is a air duct piece that can get stuck and won't allow you to use the release. Take out that piece and put it back on again to see if that will unlock it.

The shut off switch is stuck to the on position

This sounds like you have an internal problem with the electrical switch. I would recommend you take it to a vacuum dealer who has experience with this model. This is a relatively simple reapir for a pro shop to handle.

Bissell Proheat Problem

Take the top part of the handle off, make sure that the rod in the handle is moving up and down when squeezing the trigger. The lower part of the handle has a valve that the handle rod pushes on, it make be stuck in the open position.

Dirt Devil upright vac

It could be a broken handle release, but it also could be the the clamps where the handle asm, and the base hold together came use, this will cause this problem on some Dirt Devils. The top has to come off to check this out.
