Technika lcd26-209v picture has gone all psychadelic with colours distorted. someone said to get into the service menu and reset. how do i get into service menu and what do i reset.

Unfortunately I don't think this will be a setting problem. as this model set had issues like your describing and it's never been anything you could adjust and fix. Select menu from your remote if you see the same distorted picture on the menu chances are your tcon board is bad, if the menu looks ok but the rest of the picture is green and distorted you have main board issues. You can buy complete board kits from shopjimmy at a reasonable price, best bet is replace all the boards.
Sounds like convergence is off. Need new Convergence amps. Could cost a couple hundred. Check around. If it has an auto converge or manual converge try that first. Check menu
Gimbo again. Think LCD damaged will need to repair. Pics. as normal when viewed or printed.

hi i have same prob iv bin told its a convergence chip an thay r £150 ! thay go bout evry 6 years an its comon .. any way there coming 2 fix mine 2day so ill let u know if it sorts it out my mail is [email protected] thanx
If the picture is distorted, you are most likely seeing pin amp errors. This is caused by failing parts in the pin amp sections. It is very common in these sets that some of the electrolytic capacitors in the pin amp and scan amplifier sections gives problems.
An experienced service tech can service this for you.
