I found the answer to my question on another website so I am posting my own solution. To change out the electronic control which was a very simple thing to do...(don't pay a service person to do it and charge you extra), with a sharp knife very carefully peel back the inner label (like a sticker) of the display just on the ends to expose the screws. When the screws are removed the plastic housing will come off. Unplug the wire, change out the board by removing 3 tiny screws, plug it back in and put back the large screws. TA-da! And it even fixed my problem which was "freezer working, but alarm going off, and temperature uncontrollable, couldn't change to above -12 without it turning off freezer."
