SOURCE: canon powershot g5 - battery charge

Take out the battery and put it back and than recharge again. Some times in case of G5 it happens that the camera battery is not properly charged and the indicator shows that its fully charged (i.e. Green light) In such cases battery need to be taken out and than put back again and recharged

I have a Canon A560 camera. It takes pictures and I can download them to my computer OK. But the LCD screen is black, I don't see any display at all. Pushing the display button does no good.It got...

If your LCD doesn't light up then it's either the backlight or the LCD, you can open up the camera and check the cables before buying any parts. Some LCD screens come with the backlight, some don't; not sure if this one does or not.

IF it was water damage, you probably have corrosion on the main PCB and won't be able to fix it without replacing the board... open it up and check for corrosion!

Hope this helps.

When I turn the camera on (Canon Powershot A 80) purple and black stripes trouble the screen. The camera takes pictures anyway, but it is hard to see what photograph you make. Can anyone help?

Distorted image on LCD is what I get in the photo. S400power shot.

If the pics look ok when viewed on a computer, your screen might be damaged. You can get it replaced online for about $85, but you could also replace the whole camera for that cost.

Canon digital G5 LCD monitor problem

Very simple fix. Open the covering on the lcd screen and also remove covering that is between the camera and screen. There is a wire that goes from the lcd screen to the camera. It came out from all the twisting of screen when opening and closing. Carefully put that back in. Google keywords like "lcd g5 fix" etc. for more detailed description.
