Remote control for laptop

Hello!
If you want to remotely control your laptop, I would recommend using TeamViewer. It is very popular and used among many to remotely control your laptop from anywhere in the world. In order to remotely control your laptop, you have to install TeamViewer on both systems (also works with SmartPhone to Laptop) and then after you have installed it, get the address and password from the laptop you want to control and then connect it with your other system that has TeamViewer installed. TeamViewer must be and the system must be connected to the internet for this to work.
Thanks for reading, and I hope I have helped!

Teamviewer 8 Trial version *expired* (Acer)

Here's another solution:

These are instructions for Teamviewer users that have had their Teamviewer trial version expire. This is mostly due to choosing "Commercial" instead of "Personal" when installing.

Steps:

1. Uninstall your Teamviewer:
Go to Start>All Programs>Teamviewer8>Uninstall Teamviewer 8. Follow through with the uninstall application.

2. Change Names on computer:

For Windows XP users:

a. Go to Start>Control Panel>System>Computer Name. Enter a different name in the "Computer Description Box." (your computer may not have a description at all. In this case, just enter in a name that you for sure have never used before.) At the bottom you will see "To rename this computer or join a domain, click Change." Click the "Change" button. Under "Computer name:", enter a different computer name that is no longer than 8 characters. Click "OK." It will prompt you to restart your computer, TAKE CARE TO NOT RESTART YOUR COMPUTER OR YOU WILL HAVE TO RESTART THE PROCESS!

b. Now, go back to Start>Control Panel>User Accounts>Change an Account>Computer Administrator (with name of your account)>Change my name. Change the name to a new name. Click "Change Name." AGAIN, DO NOT RESTART YOUR COMPUTER AT THIS POINT!

c. Disconnect your computer from the internet. (If you already know how to disconnect from the internet then skip the rest of step "c.") Now again go back to Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager Look for the "Network Adapters" tab. Click the "+" sign next to "Network Adapters." You will have to temporarily disable every driver listed under here. So, right click on the driver, click disable. Do this for every driver listed under "Network Adapters." You may now restart your computer.

d. If you haven't restarted your computer yet by this point, restart it.

e. Restinall Teamviewer. During the installation process, SELECT PERSONAL, NOT COMMERCIAL!!!

f. Reconnect to the internet. If you did the driver disabling option, go back into Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager, right click the disabled drivers and enable all of them. Otherwise, just reconnect to the internet.

g. After the installation of teamviewer and reconnecting to the internet, you may now try to use Teamviewer again. You'll know if it was successful if you see a different number under "Your ID." You should now be able to use Teamviewer again.

For Windows Vista, 7, and 8 users:

a. Go to Start>Control Panel>System and Maintenance (may say System Security)>System>Advanced System Settings. Enter a different name in the "Computer Description Box." (your computer may not have a description at all. In this case, just enter in a name that you for sure have never used before.) At the bottom you will see "To rename this computer or change it's domain or workgroup, click Change." Click the "Change" button. Under "Computer name:", enter a different computer name. Click "OK." It will prompt you to restart your computer, TAKE CARE TO NOT RESTART YOUR COMPUTER OR YOU WILL HAVE TO RESTART THE PROCESS!

b. Now, go back to Start>Control Panel>User Accounts and Family Safety>User Accounts>Change your Account Name. Change the name to a new name. Click "Change Name." AGAIN, DO NOT RESTART YOUR COMPUTER AT THIS POINT!

c. Disconnect your computer from the internet. (If you already know how to disconnect from the internet then skip the rest of step "c.") Now again go back to Start>Control Panel>System and Security (Note: If you're viewing the Large icons or Small icons view of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply click on Device Manager)>Device Manager. Look for the "Network Adapters" tab. Click the "+" sign next to "Network Adapters." You will have to temporarily disable every driver listed under here. So, right click on the driver, click disable. Do this for every driver listed under "Network Adapters." You may now restart your computer.

d. If you haven't restarted your computer yet by this point, restart it.

e. Reinstall Teamviewer. During the installation process, SELECT PERSONAL, NOT COMMERCIAL!!!

f. Reconnect to the Internet. If you did the driver disabling option, go back into your Device Manager, right click the disabled drivers and enable all of them. Otherwise, just reconnect to the internet.

g. After the installation of teamviewer and reconnecting to the internet, you may now try to use Teamviewer again. You'll know if it was successful if you see a different number under "Your ID." You should now be able to use Teamviewer again.
