When i open my camera in record mode it starts recoding but the lcd as well as the view finder remains dark,only the functions are displayed on the screen the images are not visible... i mean to say that the things recorded earlier can be seen on it bul it is not displaying recording???

The LCd connecting Flexible strip might be faulty. If you can view the picture in dark way,then the back light can be the faluty part. If they are all OK, then replace the LCD. The connecting strip is failing fast as per our experience and this costs US$ 21.00 and it is available with us.

it probably is the ccd imager. call sony and tell them about the problem. since they had a recall for this issue the may fix it for free.

what is the model number? if it's 10 years or older you are most likely dealing with bad surface mounted capacitors.

SOURCE: black and white screen ,when on recording mode

i am not sure that i solved that problem but last night i was trying to solve this problem , there was a lamp close to me . i focus the lam and zoom in and zoom out the handy cam. i was wonder that it works great. but i am still not satisfied because i dont know what is the problem ? and it can be happpened again. If somebody really knows this problem kindly tell me . i appriciated.
