In the Army you are out in a field with a radio, a copper wire, a metal stake, and you pitch a tent. Its a radio similar to Cb radio 2 ways. You can run a wire 34 feet across between two trees about 15 feet up. make sure you tie the wire at both ends with Nylon rope(plastic) to the trees. Take the 4 to 6 feet metal rod drive into earth(ground). Attach center coax piece to wire strung between trees at one end. Attach shield to Ground Rod. Another way is to nail a board about 15 feet up, attach a copper wire 34 feet going out one way and another 34 feet the other side. It will form a Pyramid. Tie to two stakes in ground at both ends with nylon rope. It will make do for a fast Cb radio emergency camp radio. It may get stations 15 to 30 miles away. Try camping on a Mountain top with a portable 12 volt battery,Mobile CB, Copper wire, Metal stakes, plastic rope, Square plastic piece 14 inches long or a board piece.
Cross over, around the right side, in back and around the left side, over the front and around the right side, this time putting the fat part behind the frontmost layer you just laid.
remove top starter assy. cut grip from old rope ease rope into spool,
when slack remove center screw and carefully pull out spool, tie knot in rope and thread into spool, wind rope [make sure correct size rope]
around spool until full, carefully turn spool into spring 1 turn then replace screw. put rope into notch on spool and wind up 3-6 turns,
replace grip
Unless the recoil spring is broken, then you may have neglected to pre-load the recoil spring. With the recoil unit off of the motor, wind the rope fully around the pulley. Then, while keeping the rope fully wound, turn the pulley about 5 times around in the direction that would push the hope out through the hole. At this point the recoil spring will be trying to spin. Without losing that tension, push the end of the rope out through the hole, thereby putting a bit more tension on the recoil spring. Tie on the handle. Now, when you let go of the rope, the spring should hold the handle snug against the hole.
An alternative method is to use a rope about 2 to 3 feet longer than the original. Wind it fully around the spool and put the end of it through the hole. Now pull the extra length through the hole until the tension is sufficient. Cut off the extra length and tie on the handle.
good luck,

Hello. Tie a secure knot at the end of the rope. Then use another piece of rope to loop over the branch and get the correct height off the ground. Finally tie the two ropes securely together. Do not put the disk too high off the ground. Your child should be able to get on and off without assistance. J.
Easiest way is to remove the complete blower housing assembly, remove the old rope, then twist the rope pulley around and around until the spring is tight, ease it back until the hole in the pulley for the rope lines up with the hole in the recoil housing and stick a small screwdriver through the pulley and the housing to hold tension on the spring. Next, take your new rope and feed it first through the recoil housing, then through the hole in the pulley, tie a good solid knot right at the end of the rope and pull it back out until you feel it pulling on the pulley. Now holding tension on the rope, remove the screwdriver and let the spring tension slowly pull the rope back into the the pulley until it is full, pull it back out about a half turn on the pulley and tie a slip knot against the outside of the housing to hold it in place and reassemble everything. Hook the end of your rope through the rope guide on your handle if it has one, slip the handle on and tie a knot to hold it. Cut off the excess, pop out the slip knot and it will pull up tight and you are ready to go
