SOURCE: my mitsubishi 60 inch tv

Good day!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

Most likely you need to replace the projection bulb. You can find them online. DLP sets are famous - or infamous - for burning out the bulbs/lamps.

Check and replace the damaged component/s at its main power supply regulator section circuit. The sound you heard might be due to a busted capacitor. Contact any service technician. Mitsubishi WD-73638 no picture and shuts off randomly

I would think that the item to check would be the power supply. You will have to take the TV apart, get the board part number and see if you can find a replacement for it. I would recommend putting a meter to it to verify it is the board that is bad.

Look in the back for the fan area and see if you can feel/see it running. May be blocked or need to be replaced

I had to replace my lamp bulb in my mitsubishi wd-60638 tv and now i have a picture again but it is fickering and greenish tint to the screen

If you tried a cheap bulb then that might be the problem as some of the bulb carrage may not be complete4lyto spec. I had one that was close but there was a gap between bulb and where it fits. I went with a bulb dealer that had I believe a 1 year warrante and I have had no problems. I had a 73838 tv set.
