Given the problems with Makita Li-ion batteries there are 2 likely reasons, you have a faulty charger or both batteries are faulty, the best option is to find another charger to try your batteries on and see if they charge, depending on the age of the drill you may be able to get the batteries or charger replaced by Makita, a lot of them have been replaced out of the warranty period because they are known to fail prematurely, take the faulty item back to the place of purchase with you invoice and put the pressure on for replacement
You sure your battery is fully charged and still good?
on the other hand Sony Cyber-shot's are known to have this problem.
Try pressing the on button for 5sec
When a Dewalt charger is showing a fast blinking red light it means the battery is no longer chargeable. It may be because of a bad cell or short inside the battery. Whatever the reason the charger will not charge the battery and it needs to be replaced.
Stop using it until you are able to replace the brushes. You are damaging your armature if you use it under these conditions.
Start with Bosch for repair parts. Another place is ... www.repairclinic.com Of course there are FixYa.com advertisers who would appreciate your business.
If there is a good hardware store in your neighborhood, they may be able to help you with this.
ya in the trigger and also could be the brushes tap on it a little bit while holding down the trigger and if it tries to run ten id say the brushes are bad
If you are sure that battery is fine, problem can be in the switch or brushes. I would check switch first - open the driver, take 2 wires and attach battery directly to motor contacts, in case it works, problem is most probably in the switch.

Had same problem for passenger window. A friend suggested it was likely a transistor overheating ...either transistor going bad or some other electrical problem causing the problem. Motors are essentially sealed units...not readily servicable. Found replacement on line for about $30....with help of a general Astro Van service book (in most part stores) I replaced the motor in an hour or so. If I knew what I was doing...it should have taken 20 minutes. Original motor was pop riveted in place. Drilled out pop rivets and used sheet metal screws to secure replacement. Works great. Mine was a 99 Astro. Dealer wanted about $140 for new motor! Good luck.
