Power on Set up

If the Date/Time menu appears when the camera power is turned on, the date battery charge is low and the date and time settings have been lost. Please purchase a lithium coin battery (CR1220) and replace it as follows.

1. Confirm that the camera power is turned off.
2. Slide the memory card slot / battery cover lock and open the cover.
3. Hook your nail onto the date battery holder and lightly pull up.
4. Remove the battery holder in the direction indicated by the arrow. 5. Remove the battery by pulling it up in the direction indicated by the arrow.
6. Insert a new battery with the (-) side facing up.
7. Replace the battery holder and close the memory card slot / battery cover.
8. When the Date/Time menu appears set the date and time.

To set the date and time:

1 Turn the power on. Press the Menu button to
enter the camera's settings menu.

2 Press to select the Setup tab.

3 Press to select Simple Mode, then OK/DISP
to open the Simple Mode submenu. Set Simple
Mode to Off.

4 Press to select Date & Time, then press
OK/DISP to set the date and time.

5 Press , , , or to adjust the date and time.
When you are done, press OK/DISP.

I have the same proble with mya colpix s710, anyone can help

The next time you finish entering the date/time, press the set/ok/menu (whichever one you press to enter your data) twice.

I thing your problem in your internal power. I don't know what NIKON S710 use. For some camera, they used internal battery (Circle and small) in their board. If you find same, try to change with the new one. If you don't find it..In my country i find the battery in the watch service. I hope usefull

Set the date and time at least once... if it still keeps coming up when you change the batteries the back up battery/capacitor has failed... my old kodak does that so i know the frustration but it's still a good camera

Give the following a try:

How do I maintain the settings when I Power ON/OFF my Casio digital camera?
Turn the camera ON and switch to REC.
Press the MENU button.
Using the controller, scroll to the Memory tab.
To have any one or ALL so settings maintained when turned OFF, scroll down to each and then to the right. Any settings you want to be maintained when the camera is turned back ON must be set to ON.
Any setting set to OFF will NOT be maintained when the camera is turned OFF.

Try resetting camera and then format the internal memory without the memory card installed. You will then have to re-enter the information but when you shut off and power back on it should remain in memory. If it doesn't then you will have to call repairs at 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 2 and they will tell you where to send it.

Possible solution?

PROCEDURE
1. Initialize the system.
a) Enter the TEST mode.
b) Select "3:ROM UPDATE" and press SET button.
c) Next, select "5:SYSTEM INITIAL" and press SET button.
d) The following message appears.
SYSTEM INITIALIZE
START ...
PUSH OK KEY?
e) Press SET button and System is initialized.
"SUCCESS !" appears on the monitor.
2. Write firmware.
Update the firmware version"
Write the firmware.
If the TEST mode boots automatically, change "USB TCC ON" to "USB TCC OFF".

i have the same ******* problem too! **** camera never going casio again.
