Oh I no what your doing wrong WMV is a Audio format not a movie format i suggest you get a converter off google and download it they are very easy to use and i also suggest you use AVI but im not too sure that it can read AVI but most converters show you if they are Audio or Movie so i hope you have fun and i hope i helpped you out BYE.

All of this works its just you don't know how to do it. And lilman123, spell sue right.
All you need to do is get youtube downloader and mtvvideoconverter 1.11.4
use the downloader to convert your vids to avi and only the avi from youtube downloader, it makes the video into an actual "video clip"
Take the converted video and open and convert to mtv using the mtvvideoconverter. (make sure you select the right screen size) YOU'RE DONE.
HOPE THIS HELPED

Coby is an electronics manufacturer. It offers a wide range of portable devices including portable MP3 players and portable video players. These devices are small and can play audio files, video files, FM radio and display photos. All media can be added to the device easily using a simple drag and drop method on your computer. You can also use that method to delete files from your device. Supported video formats include WMV, FLV, and AVI.

Instructions

  1. Connect the Coby MP3 player to your computer using the supplied USB cable.

  2. Click "My Computer." Select "Removable Disk."

  3. Select the "Videos" folder.

  4. Drag and drop the video files you want on the device into the Videos folder associated with the MP3 player's disk.

How do i play videos on my coby mp610-8g? it just says format error i've synced using windows media player but no luck

There are a few versions of the MP610.

The newer versions come with Coby Media Manager. When you connect the MP3 player to your computer, go to Start > Computer 'My Computer' > Double click the "C" with a big red circle. This will load Coby Media Manager, in Coby Media Manager, click Movie on the left hand side, the software will scan your computer for video files, right click the video file and click sync, this will convert the video to the correct format.

If you have an older version, You can download below software that will allow you to convert to MTV video format:

http://www.cobyusa.com/files/software/VideoConverter_MP610.exe

Once the video is converted, save the newly converted video file to the MOVIE/VIDEO folder on the Removable Disk drive that shows up under Computer 'My Computer'.

Why can't I find Coby MP826?

I did some research on this product and apparently it plays WMV video files. I found Wmv Converter Portable v2.5 its a free WMV converter that will allow you to get video into the proper format for your player. When you run the program, its very simple, pick a file for conversion, under video size, select 480x272, then select the output path as your MY VIDEOS folder and click OK. We choose this folder because windows media player should search this folder. As for Music, as long as they are in MP3 or WMA format they can go straight on. Click on the sync tab in windows media player and follow the directions. and you should be good to go! as for the sample music and random documents... why bother. hope this helps.

My coby mp600-2g does not play video. After uploading it to my player and turning it on, all it does is freeze when selecting the video.  It shows the "play" symbol in the bottom left corner and then...

I had the same problem with playback of video with coby mp60-2g, and it took a couple of weeks to figure out. I wasted a lot of time installing video file converters, and trying to convert my wmv files to MTV,.... it wasn't necessary!
The Coby Media Manager software that comes with the device actually works for converting wmv files (for example) to mtv files. It's just a little confusing HOW IT WORKS. Unfortunately the 'Coby Media Manager User Guide' is very little help.
The key really is 'Synchronizing' your video to your player! But there's a little organizing of your files to do before-hand, which makes it easier when your ready to playback on your device.
For me it was easier to separate my audio files from my movie files in the 'Device' tab of the Coby Media Manger. This was the 'F:' of the Device content (middle third of the manager window) for me. I put the videos in the MOVIE.DIR folder. But you can't synchronize the video here. You must click on the 'Movies' tab on the left side of the manager window.
Under Movies, go to Library,... (now it gets a little confusing),.... immediately under 'Library', there is a 'Folder',....but that only shows what you have selected by clicking on the 'Video Folder', a little further down and slightly to the right.
So you must make your selection ('Import' video files and folders) by clicking on the 'Video Folder'! When you click on this Video Folder, you'll open a selection box, which offers
-Documents
-Music
-Pictures
-Videos
-C:\
-F:\
If you select only 'Videos', it will automatically select 'C:\', also.Which will import ALL of your videos on your C:\
If you select only 'F:\', it will only import the videos which you have put (as I suggested earlier) in the 'MOVIE.DIR' folder at the 'Device' tab.

NOW TO SYNCHRONIZE,....! (make sure you mp3 is connected to your computer).
You might notice, that if the device (mp600) already contains the file, then there will be a small icon which looks like the mp3, next to the file under the 'status' column.
BUT that doesn't mean that the mp3 will actually 'play' the video. It must ALSO be 'Synchronized', :o).
Once you've made it this far, Synchronizing is easy. Let's assume that you decided to Import all of the videos in C:\, and F:\ when you clicked on the 'Video Folder'.
Now if you go back up to 'Folders', and click on it ALL of your video files will be dislpayed. And the files which are already on your device will have the mp3 icon next to them. Also, when you clicked on 'Folders', additional sub- folders were displayed under the Folders icon.
The easy way to 'Synchronize', is to select the F: folder, with a 'right click',... which gives you the synchronize option,... clicking 'Synchronize' will synchronize-convert-copy all of the video files in the folder! Now, if you go back to the 'Device' tab and look at the video files, you'll see they have all been to converted to mtv files!
Now when you open your mp600, and arrow to 'Movies', you'll be able to play your videos!!

It wont work

When you go into "My Computer" and double-click on the icon of the Coby, it should display several folders.
Copy movie files to the “MOVIE.DIR” folder
Copy photo files to the “PHOTO.DIR” folder

Make sure the files you are transferring are the ones suggested by your user's manual.

Mp3

1. In Menu scroll down to Setup

2. In Setup scroll down to USB Mode

3. In USB Mode there are 2 settings MSC Mode & MTP Mode, check or highlight
MSC Mode. This enables the PC to recognize the player as a removable
Device or Drive.

4. Connect to PC via USB port/cable, the PC now reads the device as
MP-C70X5 (E:)

5. In WIN Explorer click “Open to View Files”, on display will be 6 .DIR folders
& a .xml file

6. Now launch the VideoConvert.exe (application file) located on the
installation disk.

7. Click Input Video button (Browse to the folder containing .avi files) & select
.avi file for .mtv conversion
(if you want to save the .mtv file to a different destination folder click the folder
icon to the right of the Video Output text box).

8. In Output Frame Size box check 176X144 (this is the max size for this
device).

9. In Output Frame Rate box check Sports Video.

10. The Output Audio Quality box defaults to Good.

11. Click Start Conversion button.

12. The saved .mtv file can now be copied to the device by simply dragging
from its destination folder or ctrl + C & ctrl + V to the MOVIE.DIR folder in
WIN Explorer as per step 5.

13 The .mtv file is now saved to the device ready for viewing, however there is
just one remaining small lissue which may a software glich or another hassle
with this player, because when the video is playing, every 60 seconds in the
background a womans voice exclaims what sounds like “Weeee Gamble

whatsup with that.
