Cordless handset I would like to purchase The Panasonic KX-TG60534S with two cordless handset. Does the handset have Talking Caller ID, or is it just the base cordless handset only have talking caller ID. We want to purchase online as soon as possible or from Best Buy Store in my location. Ann also check with your telephone line provider for the land line calls that the subscribed service has been activated that forwards the calling line identity to your land phone line. Could be it somehow has become lost accidentally by the phone company.

It would be worth them checking it has not fallen off your subscriber settings to eliminate it as a possible cause)

Guess this toggles it from 1 or 0 in the settings

look in phone under menu then look for handset setup should be in there

maybe if you ring the company name of the phone such as panasonic it maybe broken or read the instructions

From the handset press 0*4 then 0 for off or 1 for on, press to end: this turns it on or off at the base unit.
From the handset press 9 then 0 for off or 1 for on, press to end: this turns it on or off at the handset.

On page 35 it lists how to turn off talking cid for both the handset (90) and base (0*40).

Page 25 of the owners manual says you can turn off talking caller id separately for the handset and base unit. For the handset, press [MENU], scroll to "Talk Caller ID" by pressing the down or up arrows, then press Select, then select "off" or "on", then press Save, then Off.

For the Handset, press [MENU], then scrol to "Initial setting", then press Select. Scroll to "Set base unit", press Select. Scroll to "Talk Caller ID", then press Select. Select "Off" or "On" by pressing up or down arrows.

To turn Talking Caller ID on or off
You can turn Talking Caller ID on or off for the handset and base unit separately. If
this feature is off, the unit will not announce caller names. The factory preset is ON.
Handset Talking Caller ID feature
1 Press [MENU].
2 Scroll to “Talk Caller ID” by pressing [d]
or [B], then press Select.
3 Select “Off” or “On” by pressing [d] or [B].
4 Press Save, then press [OFF].

to turn the talking caller id off go to the menu press 0 then * then 4, then press 0 again to select off.

to turn the ringer on the handset back on, go to the menu, prees 1, 1, then press 1 for a low ringer, 2 for medium and 3 for high.
