Sounds like the relay or switch is bad. Just find the correct fuse for the wipers(will be marked on inside panel cover) and remove it. There is just the switch, the fuse and wiper relay in that system. So it turns on but not off, but works. So there is power from the switch and the fuse is good or it will not work and the relay lets it turn on but not off. Try putting it on a delay mode, if it does not work more than likey it is the relay. I know it is a hit or miss issue but that is cheaper attempt than replacing the switch assembly.
More than likely you need to replace the front windshield wiper motor. You should unplug the motor and check the plug for voltage, checking each terminal as you change the speed selection on the switch. This should help determine if it is a power problem, switch problem, or motor problem.
It may be related to TSB 08-027-06 which calls for a TIPM software update. The TIPM module is part of what controls the rear wiper. You will be stuck going to a dealer to have the software update performed though.
Check the fuse and then check the wire harness to the wiper motor. The information to which fuse should be in your owners manual. If you are having problems loacting the fuse panels for the wiper, keep me posted. Be glad to answer any more questions you may have. Good luck.
the fuse box is under the hood basically behind the battery but if the power windows are workng the fuse is good.you may have a wiring problem or a bad motor
I had the same problem. It was the wiper computer module according to the dealership. Fortunately it was covered under extended warranty and cost $100 deductible.
