The picture scrambles after about 45 mins of viewing and I have to turn it off for 5 minutes. After that I can only watch about 15 minutes and scrambles again. Anybody know why
Took the back off to let the heat out and that helped for 6 months. Now that's not working very well either. Sure the price is right but whether it's HP or Westinghouse, too many features never work.
Sounds like a lcd controller card. Replace it

I have a Westinghouse 32" TV from Best Buy. About 2 years old. Just after 1 year the picture will scramble after a period of watching. The time it takes to happen is directly related to room/area temperature, so I believe it is an internal part, probably something in the inverter, over heating.
Same TV, same problem; began about 6 mos. after purchase. Had geek squad guy from Best Buy come out and take a look. He misled us...told us it was a bad antenna. So purchased a new antenna...same problem. Finally we figured out that the problem also occurred with DVD's. Typically will work on TV or DVD mode for 10-15 minutes and then the image scrambles. By the time we figured it out, the TV was out of warranty (we don't watch much TV, so it took awhile).
Both Best Buy and Westinghouse say "tough luck". So...spent $1000 for a worthless pile of ****.
Oh, one other thing -- audio out connection (to allow headphone used) NEVER worked.
What a piece of total ****...NEVER buy Westinghouse and I will NEVER again buy from Best Buy(WORST BUY!).
I have the same thing - watch it for a while and then I just get rolling colors. I think it is overheating but can't find any info other than one solution here who said they installed a internal cooler and it hasn't happened since....great TV huh - only 2 years old.
