I have a Kenmore HE2 gas dryer model # 110.97561601. Moved the washer and dry to a different spot. started fine after we moved it. Went to use the dryer 2 days later and it wouldn't start. It will turn on and let you select the the cycle, when I push start it only beeps 3 times. Diagnostic shows code 88 the 09 no F-codes.Does anyone have a solution to my problem? I'm really not wanting to pay a $75.00 service call.

make sure you are getting a full 220v at the outlet. these symptoms are sometimes caused by one side of a dual circuit breaker in the house tripping leaving you with a partially functioning machine that seems to have power. d8d2a06.jpg

SOURCE: Dryer doesn't dry very well.

DEAR FRIEND,
ngfam1 here for you!
I am happy to be of assistance!

Why are you talking about it rather than acting on it?
You need service to fix it or perhaps if its old trash it and buy new!NOT MAGIC CHEF!
If you buy for price only you will change APPLIANCES EVERY 5 YEARS!!

For this problem you will need to use factory service!

Here is the service company I refer my appliance customers too!
A&E Factory Service
A Nation Wide Company. / Available 24 / 7 for arranging appointments! In the USA.
1(800) 905-9505

If this dryer is 10 years old or more do not spend any money on it!
The new ones are much more efficient! If you have to replace it buy a Speed Queen , it will do 8 loads a week for 25 years!
It's the last washer and dryer I will ever buy!!!! And less expensive than a top of the line unit!

Good luck!
You will be fine now!

Thank You
Bless you,ngfam1

SOURCE: Magic Chef Gas Dryer # YG225LV

VT,

The dryer is clogged disconnect the exhaust hose(usually a 3-4 inch thin spring like tube) from the back of the dryer and clean out the entire thing disconnect it from the window (I imagine this is what you have it connected through?) and make sure all lint is removed and then reattach. Also make sure you don't have to much slack going from the machine to the window. Cut any access hose off. It should go the shortest possible path no big loops or sags! After this it should heat up like you just pulled it out of the box.

remove the vent from the back of the machine, run it full of clothes from the washing machine and if it dries nicely, then you have a clogged vent that needs replacing.

My LG DLG2526W gas dryer wont start

I had a problem like this and our fix was to reach in and turn the drum a half a turn and push the start button. it worked for us because the motor had a dead spot on motor and once moved pass that spot, it did its job. you may have a different problem but, try it.

Washer on stackable unit won't start after it initially started..

Check the out of ballance switch. It' located between the tub and the cabenit. It sounds like it might have gotten broken when you moved it. You can bypass it by connecting the two wires together until you can replace it.

Kenmore Series 70 Gas Dryer not getting hot enough

The first thought I have is about the gas supply. If you had natural gas at the old house and now have propane or visa versa you need to change the orifices in the dryer as gas flow is different. Also, if the gas line some how got a kink in it when the dryer was being installed that too would restrict the flow of gas.

Clothes smell like gas

STOP USING THE DRYER AND CALL A QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSON TO TEST ALL GAS LINE CONNECTIONS WITHIN THE UNIT!

A gas leak can cause a fire in your home. Although, we have always used a gas dryer, and the clothes do have a fresher smell to them than an electric dryer. Any gas which may be in the area would be consumed when the gas flame was burning as normally the pilot remains lit throughout the drying cycle.

The first thing to do is check the venting from the back of the dryer to the outside of the house including the venthood make sure it is clear. Blocked airflow can increase dry time decrease efficiency.
