Electrolux EL7055 just stopped

This vacuum is virtually brand new. I hit the reset button but nothing. I left it unplugged for an entire day and when I plugged back in no indicator lights lit up. btw-this is the second vacuum exact same model that did this. The last one I had exchanged since it happened after a few days.

Filter light came on so I changed the filters around as demonstrated instore. Vacuum started again but suction very poor. Then filter light came on again, motor felt rather hot then sudden\y there's no power. This happens everytime I start it up. Vacuum cleaner is less than a year old.

They aren't quality machines, they are made by Eureeka, not Electrolux. Aerus/ Electrolux is really the way to go!

Try checking the control valve sensor.

Hi all

I have had the same problem with my electrolux. Took it back to the shop and they had it fixed-interestingly about 12 other people took theirs back for the same reason (it just stopped) Apparently a lot of problems with these models. Manufacturer aware.

I had same problem, wife was vacuuming the carpet and just quiet. Let sit over night plugged in, no lights just dead. Took canister unit apart (really easy 10 screws) found blown fuse (F5AL250) on motor PCB, soldered to board. They want anywhere from 70 -95 dollars for board to fix a .40 fuse. Went to Radio Shack bought fuse holder and pack of 5AL250 fuse for a whole $5. Solder the fuse holder in parallel put back together and fixed runs like a charm. Save money fix yourself.

I have had one of these for about 8 years now. Bought it brand new at about 600 bucks.
The telescoping wand broke, the power cord reel broke, the base neck piece broke multiple times, the roller wore out (though I'd say that's acceptable), the plug connector pins in the base collar and the wand also broke, the base plate just gave out-- honestly these pieces that break should really be made from cast aluminum-- not ABS or whatever they're made from.
To its credit, however, the motor is great, the suction is excellent and the hose hasn't given any sign that it is going to break. This machine has been used a LOT. We like a clean house, but there's 4 cats and 4 people, and we do tend to track the dirt in.
I'm really sorry I purchased this machine. Interestingly enough, my prior vacuum was a Eureka Express and it was great-- lasted about 15 years, and still the hose never broke, the power head worked great (roller still strong), the cord reel still worked and the suction was as good as the day I bought it.

The head on my guardian suddenly quit working while I was using it. The reset button seems stuck up. Are their any more reset buttons

No, that's the only one. Make sure there is nothing wrapped around the roller brush. If so, clear it. Try pressing the reset button, then start machine. If nothing, there's good possibility the switch is broken or worn out. I recommend taking to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store to allow the service tech to check it, and repair if necessary.
If you don't know where the nearest store is, follow instructions on following site.
You can also call and ask for someone to pick up the machine and take in. Just be sure to let them know you are absolutely NOT going to buy a new machine. Yours should have lots of years left in it, especially with some periodic cleaning and maintenance.

Hi, I have an Electrolux Ambassador

Hi, I have an Electrolux Ambassador and the other day I was vacuuming a fringe carpet and the fringe made the Electrolux stop (has happened before) and when I pressed the reset button, the motor is on but the wheel does not spin. Any suggestions?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. There are 2 possibilities that could be happening. Either the belt is broken of which you can replace the belt @ least one a year for proper maintenance or there may be a reset for the vacuum in case you get something caught in the brushroll section of the vacuum. Check both of those items and it should work unless you have a motor burn out – if you did there would be a burning smell. Feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

EL5 (large) powerhead

There is a no filter safety device part #1130912-01, maybe the new filter isn't in quite like it should be or this device has gone bad. Also check the brush roll and make sure it turns easily, if not then that could be the cause.

Won't start.

There is a reset button at the back of the powerhead. The user manual can be downloaded from the electrolux website, although I didn't find it very useful. There was some info on how to change the powerhead drive belt.
