I have a sony mini component system MH GX 2000. Since both the A and B side tapes were not working , I opened the cabinet and found that the two of the belts connecting to the motor fell off and lying inside the cabinet itself. I want to replace the belts, but I do not know which are the wheels or pulleys to be connected with the new belts. Please advise me a solution with a sketch of the belts position, if possible. thanks a lot

SOURCE: not reading Hi8 tapes

Fidus, I am not sure where you are located but the camcorder you're trying to use now is a PAL version of Sony's 8mm camcorder. If the tapes you recorded earlier were recorded in D8 (digital 8) or 8mm/Hi8 format NTSC, they will not play correctly in this unit. The NTSC and PAL formats are different and not compatible. Hope this helps you. Joe Weibel customelectronics.org

SOURCE: Error Message Reconect Power even if power is connected

It sounds like the tape door is out of alignment, causing stress on the tape and the inside mechanical system.  Requires a visit to the service shop.

I think you are using Windows Vista and facing problem to connect Sony DCR-HC53
Download Update for Picture Motion Browser software at Sony Support.
You need iLINK cable to transfer movie data in to computer. iLINK cable is shown in below picture.
You can have more info HERE about iLINK connectivity if you are running Windows XP in your laptop.

Canon ZR300 Mini DV Digital Camcorder THE MINI DV TAPE IT DOES NOT GO INSIDE THE CAMERA, SOUND LIKE IS GOING BUT IS EJECTED WITH A AUDIO WARNING AND IN THE VIEWFINDER SAY REMOVE THE TAPE AND A X APPEARS,...

I know this is going to sound strange. I had the same issue with my ZR300. When you insert a tape and close the mechinism you hear the tape whirl then it pops open and chimes. I found a solution online and thought it was to good to be true. It said to hold the camcorder in your left hand with the right side up (the opposite side of the fold out viewer). You then hit the camcorder , not real hard like slapping something. Open the door and insert the tape and WHAM! It loaded fine. Eight people had tried it according to the review and all eight people had success. I was skeptical but it works! Don't hit it so hard you break it. I did mine twice before it worked but it works everytime now. Trust me just try it and it will work.

Sony vx 2000 camcorder randomly says theres no tape in when tehre definitely is tape in the camera

This is usually caused by a defective component in the tape detection circuitry and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

Cassate is not removing

These mino tape cameras unlike the larger 8mm tape camera have never worked well because they jam in-side the capstan and get slung round the picture heads, a thing the larger 8mm tape hardly ever did, maybe that is why Sony went to the mini tape, it brought lots more money in to the Tec guys to un-twine the stuff.

Blue screen showing error code c:31:23

This may seem silly, but it worked for me. I found this on discussion forum. Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times. The mine works too!

Sony DCR-TRV340 tape door won't close

close it up with out a tape in it.  Slap the side with the tape door three times.  Open it up and it should work.  Sounds stupid, but it works.  For real.

Trouble working sony dcr-trv6 mini dv digital camcorder

( c : cassette : 30 capstan fg ) ; your capstan motor is stalling - try ( other brand ) new tapes and gently ! swaying camera from side while loading - if loads , your tape mechanism is dirty or is going out of alignment ; - - if the camera will not unload tape ? the capstan motor may be failing ( connector is loose , corroded ) or - it is jammed and it needs . . . disassembly . . . to complete checking .
