When I plugged in the Camera to my notebook(Vista) ,it was not identified by the System. But it is easily identified in XP Operating system.Where as giving problem in Vista. Is it not compatible with Vista ?
The exact reason is available at microsoft's website: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927836 If it does not solve..... Compatibity may be an issue, I think you should check the (Windows Vista) Control Panel > System properties > Hardware > Device manager to see the USB/IEEE-1394 ports are istalled propery and are not disabled( if so enable it). Also check the BIOS setup to verify that USB/Firewire ports set to appropriate mode(Highspeed/Full speed) If all the above is correct, try downloading the latest drivers for your camera that supprots Windows Vista & install it. And then plug in your camera again. Certain Device drivers are prevented from loading in Vista due to some security reasons. you can also log on to microsoft website to know more about it. More support is possible if can specify the camera model, manufacturer etc.
Point driver installation manually to c:\windows\system32 manually pointing driver installation to system32 will helps u to reconize and also check for possible usb driver and usb port
