SOURCE: carb rpl and adjustment

you have 2 screws marked H and L. With the engine running, turn the L (low) screw for best idle. Then for the H (high) screw, Hold at full throttle, turn screw, and listen for smothest and fastest revs.

The above link will take you to www.ereplacementparts.com
They sell all of the parts for your saw. There is also an exploded diagram. I am not sure if it will help you, but it may.

The other place I would try is YouTube. There are many videos on chainsaws.
I hope this helps and god luck with your saw.

Fuel lines on craftsman chain saw

go to the website and see if you can download a manual
most saws have 2 lines fuel in and a return
the fuel in line is the one that goes in the tank and has a filter on it
hold you finger over the fuel line on carb and pull cord, the one that sucks is your fuel in, the one that blows air out is your return

Your manual that came with my 18" chain saw

The main problem with running 10% alcohol fuel is that it runs hotter than non alcohol fuel. What I have done for the last 15 years in my stihl chain saws is runs fuel oil mix slightly on the rich side. Stihl reccommends mix to be 50 to 1 and I use about 45 to 1 and they run great. One saw I've been using for 10 years and have had no problems. I also use a additive called sea foam, available at most auto parts stores. I use about 4 ounces per gallon. As far as your warranty goes If you cannot get alcohol free gas I don't see where you have much choice if you want to use your saw Hope this helps. Thanks
