Mixed Water Fill Causes Issues with Water Pressure
Series 70 Washer - only on mixed fill/rinse/etc....something is causing my well pump to not work correctly.
I can water my lawn all day with cold water and family takes warm/hot showers and we don't experience any issues until the wash machine is put on by itself and is filling with both hot and cold water. Fill with cold water and no problems with pump.
Had furnace guy service the water heater (forced hot water - oil heat) with tankless hot water heater. No problems he could diagnose. There are some drops that come out of the backflow preventer when my problems occur, but not a lot.
Just a thought, but could something be going on with my washer letting the hot water from the furnace backflow into the cold water lines causing the pump to think there is too much pressure?
Re: Mixed Water Fill Causes Issues with Water Pressure
You will have to be specific about what problem the pump is having. It seems to pump ok for everything else. Could the hot solenoid be shorting and sending electricity down the water to bother the pump? Solenoids are not real expensive, try a new one.

there are many more likely causes for this fault. The program will stick if the heater isn't working, if the thermostat fails, if it can't fill up with cold water for the rinses, if it can't empty the water etc. There are too many possible causes of this fault to be able to give anything other than rudimentary advice. However, the common causes of a washing machine sticking that can easily be fixed are filling and emptying problems.
Check that the cold water supply is available to the washing machine, which is a common cause for sticking on rinses. The most common cause of a washing machine not taking any water in is either a kinked fill hose or the tap becoming faulty whereby you switch it on but the valve inside doesn't turn. Another common cause is the tap getting accidentally switched off and people not realising. Other causes can be wiring faults, water valve faults or programme control faults. This advice was originally written when most washing machines were hot and cold fill and didn't have error codes. It's now been updated to reflect the fact that these days the vast majority of washing machines are cold fill only and should give an error code if they can't take in water. If your washing machine is stuck full of water the water needs to be drained out and this article gives tips on how to do this. If the entire washing machine has gone dead leaving the machine full of water it may be worth checking that it isn't something as simple as a blown fuse ( Washing machine is dead, wont start ) in which case if you get the washer going again it should pump the water out itself.
If the washing machine appears to be functioning normally but simply won't pump away the water then the possible causes (in the most likely order) are a blockage somewhere, a pump failure, or an electrical fault stopping the pump from running.
Blockages are the more likely explanation, but pumps can fail.

Washing machine sticks or stops mid-cycle
A very common fault on washing machines is when the program timer fails to complete the cycle and stops part way through. Many people blame the program timer for this but although it is a possible cause, there are many more likely causes for this fault. If the washing machine appears to stop mid-cycle and isn't filling with water on rinses then see Washing machine won't fill with water (or no water goes into washing machine) before calling an engineer. If the washing machine can't drain the water out then it will stick on the rinses, or it will abort with an error code. If you can see water still inside the washing machine then check the following advice Washing machine won't empty water

I recently had this problem. It was found that the main drive belt broke and the washer would fill but not spin, agitate or drain. I replaced the belt and everything worked again. A defective or disconnected cover switch would also cause the same problem.
check your incoming water supply, the buzzing sound is coming fromthe waterinlet valve , soundslikke its trying to fill. possible that the valve is no good as well,
This could be from a few things. First test. Turn on the washer to fill it up about 3/4 the way. Now turn it back off. Does the water stop? No? You probably have a bad water valve. Replace it. Yes? Listen for the sounds of running water or look for water on the floor. Do you see/ hear this? Yes? Your pressure hose has probably come off, reattach it. If it does turn off and there is not further sounds or leaking water, you probably need to replace your pressure switch.
POWERUP, YOUR WASHER COULD BE THE LID SWITCH OR THE COLD WATER VALVE. AT THE END OF THE WASH CYCLE, THE MOTOR WILL SPIN OUT THE WATER, BUT ONLY IF THE LID SWITCH IS ACTUATED. IF THE SWITCH IS BAD, IT WILL NOT SPIN OUT THE WATER AND THE TIMER WILL NOT ADVANCE FROM THAT POINT.
IF THE WASHER SPINS, THE NEXT STEP IS TO FILL WITH WATER FOR THE RINSE CYCLE. MOST WASHERS USE COLD WATER FOR RINSES. IF THE COLD WATER VALVE IS RESTRICTED OR FAULTY, THE WASHER WON'T FILL. IF THE WASHER WON'T FILL, THE WATER LEVEL SWITCH WON'T ACTIVATE AND THE TIMER WON'T ADVANCE TO THE NEXT STEP.
