Fn not working

Hi Dimitar,
We often hear users telling us that they not able to use Fn keys such as the fn for wireless, sleep, etc.
In fact, you need to install power management software and drivers whereby it has hotkey driver included in it. Hotkey driver is the key to make sure the Fn keys work.

P.S. This apply to only Lenovo Essential and Idea machines. Exclude Think machines.

Hi. I my fn keys no longer work in the sony vaio FS285B

The problem is that the Fn Hotkey Utility breaks when XP SP2 or some other patch goes on. You can fix this by using the Vaio Recovery Wizard. Click on it, then Proceed With System Recovery, Custom Recovery, Application Recovery. Select HotKey Utility then Repair. It takes a reboot and works after that.

This is a skill you will get good at with a Vaio as it seems that every driver update or patch from Microsoft will break something.

I hope this helps!

I pressed fn + f5 but the bluetooth did not turn on

Hi there,
Make sure that the drivers are installed properly if so then you can update the drivers via below mentioned link,
Bluetooth:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-61425click on 7jba10ww.exe and download the driver.
Optionally you might require to update the hotkey utility, sometimes it happens that hotkey software gets corrupt and does not shows any problem other than activating/deactivating
Hotkey:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-74261#systemClick on 83vu18ww.exe and download the driver
Install the drivers and restart your laptop it should work then

How do i make my screen brighter on presario v2000

Decrease Brightness (fn+f7) The fn+f7 hotkey decreases the brightness of the notebook screen. The longer you hold down the fn+f7 hotkey, the more the screen dims. Decreasing screen brightness conserves power. » To increase screen brightness, press the fn+f8 hotkey.

Increase Brightness (fn+f8) The fn+f8 hotkey increases the brightness of the notebook screen. The longer you hold down the fn+f8 hotkey, the more the screen brightens. » To decrease screen brightness, press the fn+f7 hotkey.

VAIO Notebook Fn Keyboard not working

check under your "processes" in the Windows Taskmanager and see if you can find anything listed that starts with "hk" like "hkserv", "hksrv" or "hkcmd" .. That would be your hotkeys, if they were working. :) This means the driver for your hotkeys is missing or corrupt. Now, go to this site here: http://esupport.sony.com/perl/select-system.pl?PRODTYPE=24&NAVDISP=pc and enter all your info (like model number, ...), then you'll be able to download the proper hotkey driver for your model Vaio. write back if it worked. regards, Tom
