My husband bought a home theatre speaker system wth subwoofer from a friend but there is no instruction/user manual. Box says it is AD-225-PSC. Where can I get a manual and instructions on how to install this.

If the cable tv has audio out jacks, or if you have a cable box with an optical audio cable, plug either the audio jacks into the RCA system or the optical audio cable, and the system should automatically simulate 5.1, through Dolby Pro Logic II. All speakers will not be at the same volume as they are simulating surround sound, not just playing the audio.

The TV will never have sound for the DVD as this system has no audio out puts. Realistically, most televisions have 10w speakers, and this system is 130w, so the TV speakers are useless in comparison.

this is what I did and it's decent. Other way would be to run the system through a amp/receiver that supports 5.1 surround.

Uhmmm. . .okay. . .I would use nothing less than 16AWG speaker cable. Do not run the speaker cable parallel in close proximity to any AC wiring. Speaker cable rated to run through walls with usually be color coded red and black. Connected the red to the red on the speaker and red on your home theatre receiver. Do the same for the black. If speaker cable insulation is clear, look closely for subtle markings or writing on the insulation. The writing will only be on one of the two wires. Designate that as the POS or PLUS or + or RED. Connected it to the red on the speaker and the red on the back of your home theatre receiver. The other is by default the black and connect it to like colors. Repeat for all 5, or 7 speakers in your theatre. Your subwoofer probably has a seperate amplifier, so it gets it's power from it's own AC power plug. . .so plug it in. The sound coming from the Home Theatre receiver will be low-power and will carry on an RCA cable. Look for the subwoofer output on the home theatre and connect it to the input on the subwoofer. There may be a right and a left input on the woofer. . .it doesn't matter which you plug it into. . .either one will do.

You cannot use this system with one that does not have a Subwoofer or LFE (Low Frequency Effect) output. Unfortunately, this sub doesn't have a line-level (speaker wire) input. Sorry.

i have just bought a DURABRAND SA51AR home theatre system, to go with my DURABRAND 2127N tv. and DURABRAND CG5660-M freeview set top box. i have connected all my output leads obviously the speaker ones. but my input i have only one red yellow white jack on my tv and three sets of red and white jack leads with home theatre system. cant get no sound no matter how many times iv swapped the input leads ... any idea s whats going wrong :oS :(

Typically no. The device should plug into the wall, and amplify the signal by itself. It should have one or more input RCA jacks in the back for various external devices like VCRs, CD Players or your TV box, and it should have several output ports that the speaker wires and sub woofer plug in to. You shouldn't have to worry about the signal strength or amplifying it.

Just so long as you use the speakers that were designed for the unit. If you decided to use third party speakers with a higher impedance, then you would need an amp.

Have either of you looked at the quick setup instructions in the manual? It would have basic instructions on setting up a simple home theature, and if an amp is necessary, it would be indicated there.

This means that you have purchased a three piece home theatre system. Two tweeters and a sub-woofer. Assuming you are using a Stereo player (Tape/CD/DVC)you have to connect the Left Output of the Stereo placer to the Left Input at the back of the Sub-Woofer and the Right output to the Right input of the subwoofer by cables. Then take tweeters and connect them to Right speaker and Left speaker output at the back of the sub-woofer ( note if the speakers are marked L/R, then connect them to the subwoofer output accordingly. In case you are using a 5.1 player, then only connect the front right and front left to the Right and Left input at the back of the subwoofer. You are and you can now start playing your music or movies and and you will get theatre quality sound.
