Sorry about that but what you should know is most often antiviruses makes computers slower when installed. they are useful but they also have cons and one of them is the consuming a lot of ram lagging the computer, i suggest if you have 1gb of ram or less please remove that antivirus and get a portable small protective piece of software like COMODO just to protect your system and minimize usage of removable media like flash disks. this will help you alot trust me. for web browsing install browser based apps that can protect you online from viruses like Web Protect for mozira

SOURCE: what is the difference between malware and virus?

One of the most popular uses of spyware is to provide information. The person sending out the spyware wants to know where people are surfing on the Internet. As much as that invades your privacy, it's by no means the worst of what spyware is capable of.
Unlike a computer virus which can usually be quickly removed once found, spyware usually requires a complicated removal process. It may not have the same ripple effect of having your computer infects other people's computer that a virus has.
But the way it affects the performance of your computer, together with the implications of what the spyware is capable of, make it's removal a priority.

How i keep my pc safe, clear & malware free?

You can keep your PC Clean from viruses and malware by downloading and installing a couple of programs

Antivirus:
AVG Free
Avast Antivirus
These are both free and great, i personally lean towards the use of AVG

CCleaner
CCleaner is a program which removes all your temp files which is usually where malware is kept

and finally
Spybot S&D
Spybot removes any Malware software that has been installed

all these programs are completely free or have a free version

Some virii and other malwares will cause your condition. Antivirus programs no matter how good will get swamped by malware preventing them from fully functioning against the Malware infestations.
Suggest installation of MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware, run them concurrently ( at the same time ). Scan and clean with the two programs, reboot, then scan and clean again. You should notice your Antivirus join with the two antimalware programs to detect and clean your infestation ( if that is what is causing your problem and I think that it might be ). If you don't already have an antivirus program, recommend Avast Home Free, not AVG.
You should notice a strong difference after performing the procedures I have recommended. The malwares hide very efficiently from antivirus programs.
All programs I have recommended are FREE or can be used in a free mode of operation.
