Take the fan out test it independently, if it turn meaning you might have power supply problem.
Kelly you post to 7 year old posts.
really>?
do you think they have fan test power supply and jig to test a 3 or 4 wire fan, really.
I do but I designed mine.(Arduino magic)
the OP never said.
1: the fan I can't feel it blow.?
2: I can't hear it. spin(sounds)
3: I can see it not turn the rotor ,keyboard removed.(clean it)
4: the fan turns but the radiator is blocked 100% with lint as ALL DO, and fast.
fast means 1 or 2 years of neglect not cleaning a PC of all lint.
PC dead? not told.
PC overheats? and then stalls sure.
PCs exhaust port dead no hot air there?
PC fan is silent,?
fan not working means what>? (nothing really)
1: fan does not spin, packed in lint.
fan silent, ? and seen not to spin?
2: fan dead, fan bad. sure.
3: fan slow, or will not blow air, lint.
4: fan blows into radiator but it is packed full of lint (gee are not most?) and then the good fan spins and blows, but NO hot air exits the rad, exhaust port. due to lint packed up in the RAD>
see FUZZ here. (in the RAD)http://www.pcdied.com/overheated.html

You'll probably have to replace it. There are videos on youtube that can give you instructions on how to replace it, or you can bring it into a qualified computer repair shop and they can replace it for you.

O k 1st you can buy small computer fan vacuum machines that will **** all of that dust out. Then you must use a Laptop stand to let air run and circulate under and around the computer.
Hope this helped

Don't try to fix it yourself, otherwise you will void the warranty. Just take it to an HP dealer and they will fix it for you, for free.
SOURCE: How do I reset the factory settings foe a probook
Many laptop vendors put a special restore partition on the disk. At boot up, you should see a brief black and white message that says hit F? for boot sequence. At that next screen will be an option to restore you computer.
Be aware, you are going to loose anything you have done since you bought the computer, think data, settings, pictures, etc.
Hope this information will help.
Your response is very much appreciated. Thank you for using Fixya...
