I just purchased this used they had no history of the turntable. The power is on and the 33 record is spinning but the arm stays in the same spot on the turntable and no sound is coming through the speakers any ideas

The stylus could be as flat as a pancake. So will not fit into the grooves. If you unplug the wires to the cartridge and with the unit connected to your amp and that on power, touch with your finger each of the wires one at a time. You should hear a buzz one on the left and one on the right from two of the wires. If you do that shows that sound will get into your amp. If that's okay I would then buy a new stylus and cartridge. It doesn't have to be the same as the one you have. As long as it will fit on to the headshell.
