Camera not recognised on computer so unable to transfer photos to

Are you transferring photos direct from the memory card or from the camera to the laptop?

First, make sure your camera is turned on before you plug the usb cable into your computer.

Try re-installing the Nikon transfer software on your computer. Have you also just tried using the computer's image software to transfer images (or just copy and paste from the camera to the desktop)?

Use a card reader to download your pics to a folder you create on your desktop.

Turn it off first, plug it in your computer, if it doesn't auto-detect it, turn it on after...

dont bother to connect camera to pc..just use the SD card reader...either external usb one or laptops internal one
