Lamp When turned on, lamp comes on dim as usual. What is different now is that after about 30 seconds, the lamp indicator light flashes three times and the turns off and the power/standby light goes to red. At the same time the lamp shuts down without ever going to full power.

Samsung hln617w dlp tv won't turn on. Red temp

Had similar problem. Thought it was the lamp. Examined old lamp but it appeared to be good. Ordered a new one anyway. Changed the lamp but the TV screen would not come on. It would make the usual noise as it was going to come on normally but it would cycle 3 times & then turn off. The LED lights in the front panel would indicate a defective lamp. Then read about the ballast. Changed the ballast & still same problem. Tried starting the TV without the lamp installed & noticed that the color wheel did not spin. Removed old color wheel & discovered it was broken. This appears to be the cause of all of my problems. I wish I new earlier of the test-turn on the TV without the lamp being installed & check to see if the color wheel is spinning. Would have save money on the lamp & ballast.

Engin light is on how to check codes

To check for trouble codes turn the ignition switch to run for three seconds (one second pause after the fuel pump stops running) and then turn the switch back to off for three seconds. Repeat this process again. Now turn the switch to ignition and wait for about 8 seconds and the check engine lamp will start flashing the codes. If there are codes present the light will flash rapidly (about three per second) then there will be a 2 second pause with the lamp off. The lamp will then flash one or more times to indicate the first digit of the trouble code. It will be on and off for about 1 second. Count the number of times it flashes for the first digit of the trouble code. Then there will be about a 2 second delay then will flash again for the second digit. After flashing the second digit there will be a 2 second delay and additional trouble codes will be flashed. Write down the numbers and when they start repeating themselves the trouble code transmission is completed. All trouble codes consist of two digits.
If the lamp flashes only the 3 flashes per second there are no trouble codes present.
If there are codes present, let me know and I can advise you of their meaning.

Samsung DLP HL-S5087W 56" Confused...

Mine did that when the color wheel didn't spin up...just give it a whack where you installed the light & the wheel should spin up. I had to replace my color wheel as the bearing was shot & was buzzing all the time. The light won't come on if the wheel doesn't spin up first.

Lamp

I'm still not sure about your question. Let me quess that by saying power/standy light goes to red...that mean your computer
is going into standby mode.!!!! So do it this way..on the left or right top corner of your notebook not the monitor, you should be having a small pin pointing up..I think that pin is use when you close the lid of your Laptop and it make your laptop goes into standby mode. When I mean goes into standby(sleep mode) the first think you can notice that your monitor light will be off and you can still see a very light image. So maybe this pin is stuck try to push it down for several times..
best of luck, takecare
Theknack.
