No output from right side speaker jack

Was adding external speakers to my Dell W4201C plasma TV. Both were working well. While mounting the speakers to the wall, the right side speaker wire got pulled tight, and sound quit coming out of both speakers. I unhooked the right speaker to deal with the wire length, and the left speaker sound came back on. When I plug the right speaker back in, both lose sound. This is repeatable.
I checked the speakers, and they both work fine if plugged into the left channel jack individually. I measured the resistance of the speaker jacks on the TV and found that the resistance is pretty low (200-300ohms) on the left side output, but the resistance is open on the right side output.
Any ideas....?

Well, since this post, I have lost picture quality - looks like very bad contrast, and have a couple of very large black splotchy areas.  Thus, I have not tried to remove or repair the audio board.
If I can get a little guidance with the video issue, I will work on both at the same time.  Appreciate the help.  Thx

I replaced the main logic PCA LJ92-01270E and that did not resolve the video clarity problem.  I was able to go thru the menu and put the TV into "Plasma Conditioning" Mode.
There is a huge black patch in the upper left corner and another about a 1/3 of the way from the right side.  Each extends from the top edge at least 12".  In the lower left corner, there is another patch, but not black.  The rest of the top half of the screen is white with red dots dancing around in it.  The bottom half of the screen has pink/red horizontal lines overlaying the white background.
Is the plasma screen toast ?
Is this what they look like when they fail ?
    Please help !

Audio board located inside the mainboard console to the right trace your speakers wire to bd, disconnect the three leads, 3 phillips screws, and examine bd for burns. If yes, ebay the board id for a replacement.

How to reuse old BPL FHR TV speakers as external speakers? my TV is in woking condition but kept idle, please anybody give suggesion

The best / correct way is maybe not the easiest way if you are not electrically minded but, funnily enough I have done this myself but in reverse so I could output the television sound to better speakers. I will explain simply but you might have to follow up with someone local for a diagram. Materials needed will be 2 x double throw, double pole switches and 2x audio female jacks. Firstly, make sure that the speakers in the television are not some weird impedance and match that of the output impedance of your external input, otherwise you are wasting your time. DIRECTIONS; - gain access to the speakers. Disconnect the input wires to one speaker and connect these to one side of the switch. The other side goes to the pos and neg of one of the audio jacks. The two centre connections on the switch go back to the speaker. Make sure the polarity is kept the same through the switch. Do the same with the other speaker. Your new audio input goes in the audio jacks. Mount the switches and jacks neatly on the side of the television. This configuration allows you to switch your speaker inputs between your television sound or your external sound. It sounds harder than it actually is. I hope this helps. Cheers Bob

Connecting rca sound bar to lg plasma tv

There should be a left and right audio output jack on the back or side of the plasma. Plug in the bar and should run. Some TVs, under the audio menu, have a selection category for external speakers.

I just sold my surround sound system and now I can't get the on board speakers to work.

Just check the rear of the television if by chance you have left any cable still connected to the audio output jack. If there the TV might be trying to redirect the audio to an external device not present. Sometimes it could also be a simple setting to be changed , . Check if you have a switch at the back of the TV stating External or Internal speakers. From the manual i got

A/V Receiver: The TV can detect audio connections on the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT jack and the right (red) analog AVR AUDIO OUTPUT jack.
Note for Analog A/V Receivers: When you disconnect an analog A/V receiver, manually change the Speakers setting to TV to hear sound from the TV speakers.

Press Menu on the remote-> Goto AV
Select Audio by pressing the right key
Under that the first option of Speakers -> select and set to TV.
Only then will the TV speakers play the audio.

Hooking 5.1 computer speakers to a Samsung Plasma

Computer speakers are powered, they have their own amps inside the speaker cabinet.

To get these to work on a TV you need to plug them into a headphone out jack.

The external speaker terminals produce too hot a signal for powered computer speakers. The amp in the speakers may have already been damaged.

No sound from daewoo 42" plasma

This particular model doesn't have internal speakers. It has two removable external speakers mounted on the left and right side of the tv. If you didn't get the external speakers with the tv, you won't have sound unless you use a surround sound setup.
