That laptop, the original specs show that it does not have a blu-ray drive in it. Unless somedbody took the original drive out and put a blu-ray drive in the laptop, then it won't play blu-ray's.

That would be why the system keeps asking for dvds.

The playstation 3 game format is in Blu-ray... but also a special format of Blu-ray to keep people from making illegal copies of the disc. Also the disc is formatted in a way that a PC will not recognize the disc unless the drive has been modified illegally. A standard DVD drive will not recognize a Blu-Ray disc.

The problem was caused by a loose conexion. One of the cables that goes from the DirecTV box to the TV was loose. The problem was FIXED by pushing the cables to make sure there was a good conexion.

Oh, does it have a Blu-Ray reader? Most laptops are made with a DVD burner max. Check your drive. Blu-Ray is new and too high quality. It needs special players (mostly very expensive) and they cannot be played on normal home DVD players.

The Sony PlayStation 3 is arguably the best Blu-Ray player, apart from being a gaming console.
