Bios settings how can I obtain bios settings manual for my acer desktop pc.

?manual? when you go into your BIOS at the bottom of all generic BOIS consoles, there are F1 - F12 options. one of these will be: restore to failsafe settings" and the other "optimized settings" the rest you can tweak manually. as far as a manual goes you must be referring to the motherboards manual, and it only touches on BIOS and CMOS settings. good luck.

How to save bios setup in acer 1000
You should have an option in the bios to "save and exit bios settings", or similar. If it will not keep the bios settings, I expect you will need to replace the battery on the motherboard. Check your manual for the battery location, remove and replace with a new one.

Normally when the acer logo shows up press F2 that should take you in the bios setting, shows up on lower left if key assignment number is different.

Replacing a defunct AC97 Audio devise card with PCI sound card. Told to disable onboard audio with jumper. cannot find manual to locate JP7 devise looking for mainboard manual.
The manual can be found here.

Normally, the onboard audio is disabled through the BIOS settings.

Check your "integrated Peripherals" tab in the BIOS for your on-board audio device settings.

I did not see anything about JP7 when I skimmed the maual.

No a reset just loads default settings.
A Flas will overwrite the BIOS with another version.

Will not boot correctly
obtain an origonal boot cd for the os you are running, durring boot, enter bios setup and select boot from cd. run diagnostics from there.

check your bios settings while you are in bios.

Trying to update bios get message about a jumper.
Below is the link to the service manual for your desktop. On page 84 is a picture of the motherboard and a list of the components including the cmos jumper location for clearing cmos. It is located under the SATA ports.

download belarc advisory, run it...it will tell you bios company (which is where your bios update would come from) the current version of the bios...or you could download sandralite from sisoftware
