SOURCE: battery charger

Take your charger out on a boat and dump it into the sea. Then go to the store and buy a new one.

SOURCE: 18 volt ryobi battery charger...green & yellow lights come on wha

talked to Ryobi and they are vague. It can either mean that the battery is bad, or the charger is bad and another one that maybe the contacts of the battery are dirty or not seating fully in charger. What I would look for in this instance first unplug the charger and look into charging slot to make sure the terminals of the charger are not bent and they come out into the cavity where battery would go. If not gently pull terminal into opening and retry. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance

SOURCE: can a bad ryobi 18 drill ruin a new 18volt ryobi battery

If the drill has a short in it, then yes, it could short the battery out. Probably in the trigger switch.

SOURCE: Red light in charger flash when battery is put in

This behavior is typical of trying to charge a battery that is wither too hot (let it rest for a hour) or one that has done its job and is ready for the battery retirement home. Replace your battery for best results with your Ryobi battery powered tool.

RIDGID: 18V 8.0 Ah Rapid MAX charger flashes red and green at the same time. Why is this please?

Question edited for clarity and correct spelling of the maker.

Here is the manual section on the LED Lighting sequence. Both Red and Green flashing is not there. Your charger has a model number on the bottom of it and you didn't supply that, so this may be the wrong charger!

Dewalt dc9310 charger flashing

On some chargers, when the light blinks rapidly, it means that the battery is bad. Try looking up charger information on-line.

What does it mean when my worx battery charger has a solid red light.

according to manualslib type site for the wg540, solid red means charging for the wa3840 and wa3838. After 30 minutes if battery has not reached 10 volts (of 18), the red will begin flashing meaning defective.
Just green? Ready to go. Green flashing? Overheat.
Tangent; sometimes a discharged battery needs a little coaxing - have to get a little voltage into the battery for charger to try to charge. Different company, electric drill. I plead ignorance if this applies for the 3840 since they mention the half an hour time.

Makita battery charger wont charge

If both lights on the charger are flashing it is indicating you have a bad battery and the charger will not charge the battery. The charger has circuitry that tests the battery and if it 'thinks' the battery is defective it will not attempt to charge it. The only way to verify whether it's the battery or charger is to try charging your battery on another charger or try charging another battery on your charger. Most of the time it's a bad battery.

I have a power problem with a RIDGID 18v rechargeable drill. The battery charge indicate charge and the unit won't start . One of the batteries was left in the charger for several weeks. I use this...

I leave my 18 volt batteries charging year round even if I do not use my drill I switch batteries about once a month to keep them both up to snuff. your new chargers are made to do that unless the instructions tell you not to. I was told even new batteries will not hold their charge if allowed to completely run down and stay there.

My charger is flashing red when i place the battery in it

Ridgid charger lights read as follows: Solid red; charger has power. Flashing red; charger is evaluating the battery, checking if it's cool enough to charge and if it is in chargeable condition. If the battery is hot, i.e. just came off the tool after extended use, it won't charge the battery until it cools down. Flashing red & green; the battery is defective and the charger will not charge it. Solid red & flashing green; battery is charging. Solid green; battery is full.

When charging battery flashes red then stays on red.how long should it take to change to green?.its a dewault9130 18 volt

it doesn't change to green, the solid red light means it is fully charged, there should be a legend on the front of the charger to help you with this. If it flashes real fast the battery is malfunctioning and slow flashing is charging and again solid is fully charger.

Upon power up, 3 red LEDs flashing rapidly continously, no power.

The control systems on power mobility equipment have a "prevent" circuit that immobilizes the equipment while it is plugged into a charger, so folks won't take off with it plugged into the wall outlet. When you turn it on when plugged into a charger, the display will flash constantly, or sweep constantly, depending on the manufacturer. This is normal. Your off-board charger should have a red light to indicate power to the charger, and another light for the charge status. Yellowish means it is charging, when it turns green, you are fully charged. If the status light is green all the time, that is an indication that the charger is not functioning properly, or that the batteries are below a chargeable state. Check charger output, which should be 26-28 volts dc, and each battery should show at least a 12 volt reading, but around 13.5 volts with a full charge. If one or both of the batteries drops below 12 volts after a short period of time, it's time for a fresh pair. Fully charge new ones before using the chair.
